The Houston Bariatric Society was established in 2011 and is the first Specialty Society under the umbrella of the Harris County Medical Society to open its membership to physicians, surgeons, allied health care professionals and its supporters. Its mission and hope is to educate each other and others on the importance of fighting the fight against obesity. The Society recognizes all the team members in a patient’s journey to achieve their goals to better health and living.
The mission of the Houston Bariatric Society is to bring bariatric physicians and their allied health care counterparts together for purposes of improving communication, enhancing medical education, boosting societal awareness of the obesity epidemic and improving patient access to care.
