Went there to go to the Big Spring Cowboy Rodeo and had a great time with family. If you ever go to the rodeo bowl, you should take you something comfortable to sit on. The seats are cement so it can be very uncomfortable unless you bring your lawn chairs. Everyone is very nice and plenty of space.
I love the remodel that they did to this place! It looks so much better than what I knew it growing up. It now has a place to the side where you can serve out, which makes it better space wise. It doesn't take up room because it's a room of it's own. The bathrooms are nicer as well. Really like the upgrades of the place.
I had a very good time at the rodeo. There was a lot of people on friday and saturday I Will do it again. Good food. Great atmosphere.
I went here for the Rock and Mineral Show and it was AMAZING! Lots of Vendors, variety of stuff, wonderful live music, and great food! I go every year and can't wait until next year!
The Dora Roberts center is a great space for a gem mineral show... Or a county 4H / stock show. Clean and cheerful.
Nice place glad there is concrete and not dirt now
Perfect venue for the annual Big Spring Rockhound Gem and Mineral Show. Family and I go every year.
Great place and well took care of volunteered at the rodeo this year 2021! The only problem is the special people there! Talking about how there are rules for one group of people then there are rules for special people! Also, some of these special people like Miss Rodeo queen think she is that and that people who don't care about a bunch of drunk men playing with cows and horses should know who they are. Grounds are great as so is the food but be ready to pay for it like one $5 corn dog my son bought.
I do enjoy the annual fair, watching grandchildren perform, the vendors & seeing people I've known for 50 plus years. There is NEVER ENOUGH HANDICAP PARKING & I ALWAYS SEE MANY VEHICLES PARKED IN HANDICAP WITH NO HANDICAP PLATES OR PLACARDS. The unmarked random parking within the grassy areas are so disorganized, making parking decisions difficult as people do not follow how other vehicles have began rows of parking which can create blocking cars in as people come & go. I myself am physically disabled, had to park on what was 3rd row of cars; i carefully chose a spot in front of an auto lined up with other cars on my row. I was there from 3:45 to 4:50pm. As I was at my vehicle putting my Rollator-walker in my back seat, a young female was approaching, screaming cuss words & threatening me. I was startled before becomming extremely nervous, afraid of her possibly making good on threatening violence. I have critical stability problems. I have to carefully take every step with caution. I was proceeding at my only pace as the female continued cussing me, demanding I move immediately; she stated she'd been there four hours, blocked in which wasnot true as no vehicle was behind or in front of hers at 3:45 when I parked and it was 4:50 when this occurred 9/23/2018. This foul mouthed young female, cussing me, nasty comment about me being a "67 year old _____",with 4 small children present, flipping me off as I waited for clear to back up. This was a newer White Dodge mid size SUV-crossover vehicle, TX platesJXM4316. It is self entitled, disrespectful, dangerous people like that uncivilized young female who are part of the reason that the elderly &/or disabled do not feel safe, simply going out in public. I've known of this happening in large cities, but haven't experienced anything like it in Big Spring, TX, UNTIL TODAY. It's a shame.
Inside was more for adults and outside was more for kids. Food was ok but a little more expensive than it should have been
