The Howard County Criminal Justice Center is comprised of many divisions working together to serve the community. The following divisions are located within the department:
Administrative (sex offender registry, gun permits, alarm permits, Sheriff Sales)
Civil Process (small claims, evictions, foreclosures, etc.)
Corrections (pre-trial detainees, sentenced offenders)
Criminal Investigations (Detectives)
Howard County / Kokomo 911 dispatch center
Patrol (road Deputies).
The mission of the Howard County Sheriff's Department is to serve, with quality, the courts and the community. Safeguard lives and property; protect the innocent, the weak, and the peaceful against deception, oppression, intimidation, violence and disorder. And, to respect the constitutional rights of all to liberty, equality, and justice.
