Hoyt–Schermerhorn Streets

Description

Hoyt–Schermerhorn Streets is an express station of the New York City Subway, serving the IND Crosstown Line and the IND Fulton Street Line. Located at the intersection of Hoyt Street and Schermerhorn Street in Downtown Brooklyn, it is served by the: A and G trains at all times C train at all times except late nightsHistoryHoyt–Schermerhorn Streets was constructed as a junction between the Fulton Street and Crosstown lines of the Independent Subway System (IND), and part of the section of the Fulton Street subway under Schermerhorn Street between Court Street and Bond Street. Surveying by the New York City Board of Transportation along Schermerhorn Street began in 1928, and construction began around 1929. Property on the south side of Schermerhorn Street between Bond and Nevins Streets was condemned to facilitate the project. Like other stations along the lines, it was constructed via shallow cut-and-cover methods, with the street covered by wooden planks. In September 1929, a portion of the "plank road" above the station site collapsed.

Its your standard subway station here in Brooklyn. Its safe, clean-er than most. The trains are always on time, and I never have any problems. Could be worse could be better, but that could be said just about anything.
A good A/C connection to the G... also the Transit Police Station is here.
Clean and average. This is my favorite station for no reason at all but it's nice
Took the subway in New York City for the first time in my life. I went from 14th Street to Hoyt Schermerhorn Street in Brooklyn and back. It was painless and easy. The stations were as expected.
A fantastic station that deserves a renovation, with the major redevelopment going on in the area. The A, C, & G sometimes provide frequent service. This station should also have elevators.
Joshua Block’s favorite station. Shows up there everyday basically. Ahoyt
Cool station, but I don't know why the HH train was Shutdown. It's a waste of those platforms
This urine soaked gem harkens back to the golden age of 1970’s New York! Masticated gum forms a makeshift terrazzo pattern on the concrete platform while lead paint chips peel from the ceiling. Be sure to keep your ears open for overmodulated announcements emanating from a PA system installed during the Reagan administration.
Quiet and peaceful subway station. G Train runs every 4-5 mins. C and A train a bit longer but overall it’s great
It's your average subway station but there was a guy yelling
