The personnel at the front desk is extremely rude and unprofessional. Whatever you asks her she would reply with a mad and impatient face saying “it’s hard to explain “. So disappointed with the training and service of this specific brunch. Try to avoid this brunch at all cost, there are a lot of other better options, where the personnel cares and are well-trained.
UPDATE: AVOID THIS "BANK" AT ALL COSTS. They keep your money in transfer for days to get free interests, in complete disregard for the inconvenience and financial damages it may cause you or the recipient, I submitted an international wire transfer. Called to confirm all the details. However the transfer has not gone through after more than a week despite their app saying "completed". The branch says they are unable to check the status so I'll have to call their customer service. Customer service says it's still in "clearing" - haven't even left the US yet. They have no set date for the completion. I ask to cancel the transfer. They agreed but then told me that it will take at least two days for them to review the cancellation request - and the reversal may or may not succeed!! According to them, I may also receive less than the original amount because of currency rate fluctuations, so they are essentially charging me the bid-ask spread for money they sat on for days. I am filing a complaint to CFPB and OCC. -- The branch and relationship manager is fine. HOWEVER for a simple transaction - be prepared to spend hours on the phone talking to their customer service center in India and their broken phone app.
I opened a new account at this brunch on June 2023. I was helped by a very nice, welcoming associate; Gitanjali Misha. She was willing to help and tried her best in a complicated situation. I appreciate her time and effort.
I am grateful for the help from Christine Guo the client experience associate manager who assisted me with account activation issue during my stay at San Jose. I will introduce clients to her.
The manager of the branch Onjali Phailbus, was rude, impatient and irritated at the questions I was asking regarding tax forms. Instead of calmly clarifying my concerns, she said there are other people on the phone line she had to attend to. As a 15+ year premier customer, this is unacceptable. I’ll be moving my funds and closing my accounts. I suggest you stay away from this location if you want to be treated with respect.
My experience was excellent I was lost I got to the bank at closing time I believe the woman who is the manager said it’s just fine come on in and I was very pleased with their service. There was one exception the woman who helped me even though I gave her my ID I was hesitant to let me withdraw cash. But the person next to her help the situation and made it and as a pleasant one. So I happily discussed my plans to go to the beach
After looking at the reviews both on yelp and on google we were hesitant to open an account here. We have been receiving the mail promotion from hsbc for a couple of years now and decided to give it a try. We were greeted by relationship manager Peter, not only was he professional and courteous, he made the whole account opening process a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to open up an account to see this young man. Make sure you call the branch to make an appointment as the account opening process can take around 30-40 minutes.
When I walked in on a Friday afternoon, there is no client. It was 4:26pm. However the banker told me that no one can help me that day, because they want to close at 5pm. Even though all bankers are not working with any client at the moment, he said everyone of them have appointment with someone, and the customer can come in anytime. He literally asked me to come back on Saturday or a different day. I’ve never had such experience in any other bank before.
I am a customer for 2 years now. I basically deposits money into my savings account and I don't use my checking account for my daily expenditures. Recently I got a total service fee of $490 charged to my checking account because of insufficient fund. I found out it was due to 14 small charges from paypal. I immediately called paypal to find out why. It is a government regulation change. Because of the new regulation, my paypal balance could no longer be used to pay off the small charges $2-$10. So paypal used my backup payment method which is my HSBC account. I tried very hard to call the branch, visit the branch, and call the 1-800 number, but no use. Either the manager's not available or there is nothing they can do about it. For less than $100 expenses within 2 weeks of period, I was charged $490 service fee by HSBC. I am going to switch to other banks. Period. If you are going to bank with HSBC, I suggest you read every small prints because it is very hard to ask HSBC bankers to refund service charges. Good luck!
Should have given zero star if allowed. The online statement doesn't show FROM/TO which bank for all the BankToBank transfer. How could customer know what that transaction is about. They also outsource customer support to India. The support people didn't really try to help but tried hard to avoid problem or searched for excuses. Very not perform any good for the company. I will avoid this bank and try to close the accounts soon.
