I want to say that most of the staff was great. I found the doctors were informative and had good bedside manner. However, a nurse who I won't name made me feel very uncomfortable and somewhat unsafe while I was there. I warned before a blood draw that if I didn't get food I'd pass out and didn't want to pass out. Then, when I could tell that I was passing out I asked for them to keep an eye on me. My heart has stopped before for 11 seconds in the hospital when I went out. The nurse said "just calm down and pass out". They then stopped answering me, my questions, and my concerns. I barely managed to call my wife wherein he called her "honey" and told her not to worry. At this time I couldn't speak for myself and could barely hear him and her talking. If they are so rude and dismissive when I'm awake and making conscious requests then what will they be like when I'm unconscious and without a voice?! Thankfully my wife was able to get to the ER and ensure I had a voice.
The care I received was very good. However I was there for 3 hours after I was admitted due to some stomach issues. I had blood work done and was told to provide a stool sample. I couldn’t go at the time and was given a kit to use at home. Took me a full day to get the sample and I went the next day to drop it off. I was told I was given the wrong information that I should be going to my family practice for that. Both the nurse and doctor told me to bring it back. Poor communication. Nothing really was solved because now I have samples and no one to give it to. My family practice hasn’t updated their info so now I can’t even make an appointment with them Wright State Physicians. The ER nurse just told me to schedule with family practice and they can provide a list of doctors to go to. No thank you I can do that myself. So pretty much paying emergency room cost with no solution found. It was a waste of my time and money that I will have to pay once I get the bill. And yes I was kind of upset when I left.
I received quick attention from the admission staff. The nurses were very kind, friendly & attentive. The doctor stepped into the room twice but, never approached me. First, he asked a couple questions while washing his hands, then left to handle a phone call. The room was freezing, but nurses brought warm blankets promptly. Nurses also relayed a couple messages from the doctor. No one ever said why he ordered one of the bigger tests, but I did receive prompt treatment. The doctor only poked his head around the curtain to tell me the diagnosis & say they were "sending me home." I had to stay about 30 min longer to finish treatment.
The nurse who took care of me was great!! The imaging people were great as well!! The doctor....not so much. I saw him a total of 1 minute and he didn't look thrilled to be doing his job at all. The rest of the experience was very good!!
Everyone was very friendly! I appreciated that the doctor stopped in at one point to say he hadn’t forgotten me. The only slight issue was when I did have a second episode of a higher heart rate it seemed to take a little time to respond and while no one was concerned about it, I was and it felt a little bit like my concern was brushed off. The doctor did explain later that there was no concern because my heart rhythm was perfectly fine but the rate was high. But overall it was a positive experience!
Absolutely great. I was treated like I was the only one there. Very kind, concerned, thorough, knowledgeable and capable. Comfortable in all ways! Thank you so much!
I always have a pleasant experience at this ER! The staff & doctors here are always very kind and professional. They are also one of the fastest around and the wait times are almost always minimal. Highly recommend!
Staff were nice. Very busy. No beds available. I decided to leave because the wait would have been long and I felt worse. Wish it was a larger ER but it’s great to have one in town
The nurses and doctors were well- experienced and courteous. I got great care from them. It's only been a day since I visited their ER, but I'm already feeling much better! That's because of the medicine they prescribed me. I'll always choose Kettering Health Huber. Thanks.
Staff was rushed. I was there for 4 hours. I saw my nurse twice. Once to start my IV and then upon discharge. I was not updated on my plan of care until discharge. I was discharged with a hemoglobin of 7.6 and still actively bleeding. I was never given any reassurance. Just told to go home and return to another ER if my symptoms worsen. Told to follow up with 1 of 2 Drs. One of which is booked out until December 11th and the other who is out of country until next week. Not impressed with KHN. May have to give Premier Health a visit.
