The park itself is excellent with a nice paved trail and grassy side areas for you & your dog. However, this place suffers from excessive bugs. Notably, the Ticks. This place is totally inhabited and swamped with Ticks and fleas. Your dog will pick up Ticks if he/she goes into any grassy area, and especially the longer grass. So unfortunate that so many ticks and fleas make this place great to see from inside the car, but fails to be a place where I would choose to walk my dog or go for a run. This place could a gem with major cleanup. People you run into are great though!
Nice place to visit. Flat with nice asphalt roads :- We went for a sugarbush trail and pancake breakfast. The pancakes were delishes.
Used to be my home course for a round of disc golf on the weekends. The course is beautifully upheld. The park itself offers something for everyone, and is incredibly clean. Always worth stopping by for an afternoon when you are in the area.
Really enjoyed the disc golf course here, especially the tree faces around many of the holes
Hudson Mills is one of the best parks around. It was built on the ruins of Hudson Mills, an abandoned mill town on the Huron River. It's at the intersection of Dexter-Pickney Rd. and North Territorial. It's on the Border to Border trail, so you can ride and walk to Dexter 5 miles along the river. Inside the park, there is a large, modern playground that has equipment for both toddlers and older children. There are other areas throughout the park with swings and slides. There's a ranger station with concessions and nice bathrooms. There are a few different locations to launch kayaks. Pavilions are available for rent and there are many picnic tables scattered throughout the park. The highlight of the park is the 2.5-mile path around the park perimeter. There are bridges and very pretty scenery, especially along the river. You can stop and put your feet in the water during the summer and watch the kayakers. It's absolutely stunning in the fall and a popular place to have photos taken. Most of the path is flat, but there are two hills that can be avoided going out and back from the meadow view area. There are soccer fields in the park and it's usually busy on the weekends, which can make parking more challenging. There is an overflow lot. Playground: Play equipment for both toddlers and older children. New Restrooms: Clean modern restrooms in main ranger station and pit toilets throughout the park. Dog-friendliness: There are always lots of dogs in the park! Picnic area: Pavilions to rent and lots of picnic tables throughout the park.
As close to a perfect park as you can get. Our last trip out we played disc golf for a couple hours, went to river and had lunch, then kayaked for a couple hours. There are lots of picnic tables, grills, and tons of benches to make lunch great. If you drop in kayak above rapids and walk under the bridge the water is smooth like ice and beautiful. We went upstream to the canoe campsite, really nice. The rapids are fun and easier to navigate than Delhi.
Stunning park! I hosted my grad party here, it was great. There was something for everyone to do. There was plenty of shade and gorgeous trails. Would come again.
The trail we rode was clean, smooth, and well maintained! We stopped to have a picnic after riding a few miles and then returned to play at the park.
Great disc golf courses!! There are two separate 24 hole courses. Hudson Mills original Disc Golf Course 24 holes and practice hole & Hudson Mills Monster Disc Golf Course 24 Holes. The original has a good mix of open/wooded and left/right holes and many of them are shorterbeginner friendly. The monster course also has a good mix but the holes are definitely longer and geared towards more experienced players. Great conditions and maintainence! Long & Short cement pads, benches/tables, trash at all holes. Very nice! Very Clean! Highly recommend, worth the drive.
The photos don't do justice to the metropark. Nestled 25 mins away from Ann Arbor, is this beautiful park that is simply splendid for its amazing trail, fishing, cycling and kids play area. Do the paved trail to experience the park in its beauty. And if you're in a mood for some picnic, this is a superb spot for some good food, good company with a great view!
