Best mortuary ever! We have gone through other mortuaries in the area previously for grandparents who have passed away, and we were grateful for their service. But! Hughes Mortuary knocked all of their services out of the park. Hughes went above and beyond with what they offered at half the price. My dad's passing was hard on our family, but Hughes took away the stress of so many aspects dealing with passing of a loved one. So personable, one on one service, taking care of all of the little things. And Hughes offers a service I have never encountered before! They offer after care services! A few days after the funeral services one of their very kind staff members reached out to us, and invited us to come in to help get social security, bank accounts, credit cards, 401k, etc etc taken care of. Our entire family highly recommends Hughes Mortuary. You will be so grateful you chose to work with them at a fraction of the cost of other mortuaries while receiving superior quality and service.
Hughes Mortuary is absolutely wonderful! They are so much cheaper than other mortuaries. Their services are above and beyond. They even make excellent slideshow videos for the viewing. We only had to make one payment to Hughes rather than separate checks to the floral shop, headstone, program printers etc. When my husband passed, their aftercare services were invaluable! Helping me step by step with insurances, social security, bank accounts, family will, etc. Sitting with me at a table while they made the phone calls and guided me on the paperwork was a huge relief and weight off my shoulders. They even offer grieving services. 5 star service and we highly recommend.
Hughes Mortuary has been a blessing for my mom and myself! Tom, Brighton, Ryan, and Mr. Hughes have been amazing! I can't say enough about them! We forgot something at the mortuary and the owner drove it all the way to our house! Tom and Brighton were such pillars of strength for my family and would give you the shirt off their own back! I cannot believe how easy they made everything for us during this tragic event in our life. Ryan has been so kind and worked around my schedule! Also I don't know the name of the lady that works at Hughes, but she is so kind and just lights up the room with her smile! I could go on about how amazing they have been, but just know that your whole family will be blessed by using Hughes Mortuary!
Hughes Mortuary handled all of the details for my father's passing with the greatest care and respect. Jimmy came out to the house even before my father passed away and met with all of us. He explained the entire process with great compassion. We were impressed with all of the options that were included with the arrangements. Jimmy inspired confidence in us right away. My father passed away within an hour of our meeting with Jimmy, and Jimmy returned to our house to take dad's body. At one of the most difficult moments of our lives, it was amazingly comforting to have Jimmy there to guide us through the process. He handled all of the details for us, allowing us to grieve and comfort each other. I was most impressed with his compassion and gentleness. He guided us, comforted us, and helped us tailor the services to what best represented our father. Every aspect of the care we and dad received was top quality, and it was truly a blessing to have Jimmy and his team involved in this with us. His wife is an angel as well, as her skills in preparing dad's body for the open casket viewing were greatly appreciated. I would give them a million stars and thumbs-up if that were an option. We will recommend Hughes Mortuary to all we know who are going through this difficult life transition. We are confident that they treat all of their valued customers with this same level of compassion, respect, and efficiency.
Hughes was recommended by my dad’s nurse as she had used Hughes services before. We are glad we chose them. We prepurchased a cremation package for my dad several months before he passed so that part would already be taken care of. We we out of state when dad passed so we needed to fill out an online form permitting Hughes Mortuary to take care of things. My husband went to collect dad’s remains after hours, thinking they were open. Jimmy had been waiting for my husband but he was 45 minutes late. The Mortuary was closed but Jimmy came back to give my husband the remains after hours. That’s what I call above and beyond the call of duty. They obviously care about their customers...a rare quality these days. Their prices were less than other companies. Highly recommended.
I cannot even begin to express how grateful we are for the amazing care and professional service we were provided by Jimmie, Tawny and the staff. We were grief stricken with the unexpected passing of our mom/wife and they handled every situation with great love and care. They carefully walked us through every step of the process with not only precision, but with gentle, genuine sympathy. They were there are at every decision with knowledge and helpful hands. They bent over backwards to make sure all our wants and wishes were seen to and delivered. During one of the most difficult times in our lives, it was calming to have Hughes Mortuary at our side. Although I hope it is a really long time before we have to make another visit, I would never go anywhere else. They are the best in the industry and highly recommend their services.
Our family was very impressed with the manner and services provided by Hughes Mortuary. We actually had to have two family members attended to with Hughes, and they were both able to have open caskets. In a difficult time, they were efficient and courteous and very sympathetic. In April of this year my mother passed away due to heart disease. Despite the fact that she had struggled with her health for years, her passing was none the less, unexpected. Furthermore her passing came less than a month into COVID-19 restrictions related to large gatherings, and everyone was still trying to figure it all out. As such, planning a funeral was made even more logistically and emotionally difficult. Yet Jimmie Hughes, through his professionalism, compassion and forward thinking put together the most beautiful graveside funeral and ceremony I have ever been to. I thought we would feel robbed not being able to have the traditional funeral at the church but I was pleasantly surprised to find that every detail was accounted for and being outside actually added to the beautiful tribute to my mother. Additionally, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the work of Tawny Hughes who did the most amazing job with my mother's hair and make-up. I haven't EVER seen anyone look as natural as my mother did. When we went to see her for the last time, she looked so much like herself it was hard to believe she was gone. I will be forever grateful to Hughes Mortuary for their professionalism, kindness and assistance through a very difficult time.
Hughes is so awesome for the way they handle not only the deceased but the compassionate and professional manner and care they show towards those who love them. They did such a great job on making someone very dear to me look better then he had in I'm sure many years. The services they provided were beautiful and it was obvious they genuinely cared and took pride in their work.
