2021 graduate. Spent half a grand on Culinary Knife kit. Only for the other students to rob your knives. Professors/chefs don’t do anything about it. Overall good learning experience at least before the pandemic started.
My experience at Humber was bitter sweet. There are so many different opportunities in the school I wish I took advantage of ,but I couldn’t because of the pandemic. The option to finish my studies virtually is what made my experience ok ok
I did my HVAC diploma program here and honestly I felt cheated. 4 semesters to cover 24 modules is way too long. I truly learned nothing, all the electrical classes was just useless unnecessary filler that wouldn’t be used on the field. Even the refrigeration hands on labs were useless, I was taught nothing about vacuuming systems, adding refrigerant, troubleshooting or anything. Also the last year I was there they only did 1 lab a week 6 total for the semester. Just awful, I’m considering going to Halton skilled trades to boost my knowledge again, they have real teachers and a real course all in under 4 months per license. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE GETTING INTO HVAC.
Went to write my Ielts exam. Great and extremely organised environment.
I am so incredibly frustrated that Humber uses the ProctorTrack app. It never consistently works and when you call humber to ask to reschedule they tell you unless proctor track support tells them they can't fix the issue you aren't able to receive any support. So, first you you're stressed because of an exam, then you're stressed because your exam won't work, then you're stressed because you're not sure if they will reschedule you for free because of these issues caused by Proctortrack
Professor Muhammad Khan and Haider Jabbar are the best professors that any student can have. I wish i could give them more than 5 stars.
I had the opportunity to stay in students residence building this summer 2018 and observe changes taking place this year. It appears that the University of Guelph Humber is offering more programs however I am concerned about the real true reason of expansion. Having lots of conversations with students and staff I have discovered that majority of students come from India and Canadians attending this university represent only and if 10% of total population. These numbers are alarming in a sense, if you give it a thought. The question here is: is Humber University is genuinely caring for and focusing on education or is it becoming another greedy school with focus only on huge profits that come from international students charging $20,000 and more per semester. Well I guess it’s up to you to decide about it however myself I love architecture so I am going to post few the most recent photos of undertaken expansion. Take a look, cheers
My experience at Humber was bitter sweet. There are so many different opportunities in the school I wish I took advantage of ,but I couldn’t because of the pandemic. The option to finish my studies virtually is what made my experience awesome. One thing Humber needs to work on is hiring better placement coordinators. I was in the CJS program and my coordinator SQ,would no show every meeting I created and sometimes he would return my call hours later which is unprofessional. The work experience folders are a joke because the coordinator rarely updated the jobs that were available/unavailable. There also needs to be more work done with these organizations we are being sent to ! I learnt absolutely nothing during my work experience, it was a joke and when I would complain about not learning anything..I was told to just make the owner/founder happy . There is so much more I could say but coordinators and even placement professors KNOW they can do better. Please don’t fail this years CJS students , the field is very competitive after graduation.
I just received an email that Humber does not require vaccines nor masks anymore to attend. As much as i am very happy for so many students that have the choice now, i am also very frustrated and upset for the pain and suffering that Humber has caused me during the winter semester where they did not give me this choice instead they were okay with me to fail eventhough i only had 4 more weeks to get graduated. I am very very disappointed that Humber did not care at all about my well-being or my mental health. I don't regret attending this college because i met some great people there and i was taught from some amazing professors. However, i do regret that i didn't fight harder against this nonsense and i left them to take away my fundamental rights as a human being. They did brake me during those weeks but i was stronger and was able to graduate without attending the last 4 weeks of my school because of my hard work and dedication to graduate. Everyone should have the right to choose and also the right to attend classes if the tuition is paid in full. My last semester was the hardest time of my life because of the stress Humber has caused me.
Went here in 2016. Alot of free programs to help you pass successfully. I was about to fail the math aspect of my program but I got help from the free math tutors. She sat with me for almost 2 hours every weekday for 3 weeks.
