JennyO, as her many adoring clients and friends know her, is the dynamic, energetic whirlwind who has just purchased Huntington Jewelers in Las Vegas. As the store’s owner, manager, design overseer, and superstar sales professional, JennyO is realizing her dream of building a warm, welcoming, comfortable, and gorgeous place for clients to find exactly what they’re looking for - or dreaming of - in fine jewelry. Born and raised in Las Vegas, JennyO has devoted herself to the jewelry business since she took a position as a sales professional at Kay Jewelers as a mere 19-year-old in 1999. Working with the diverse variety of clients from all over the world who visited the store in Las Vegas’ Fashion Show Mall, JennyO discovered she had a natural affinity for connecting with customers and guiding them to just the right piece of jewelry. In 2001, she moved to a sales position with Simayof Diamond Cutters in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. Here, she grew fascinated with diamonds and gemstones, and with the concept of jewelry as art to be worn.
She spent the next two and a half years studying with the Gemological Institute, headquartered in Carlsbad, California, and developed a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the jewelry industry. When she graduated, she took a position on the supplier side of the industry, selling loose diamonds and finished branded lines of jewelry to retailers all over the United States. She developed strong relationships across the industry through this work and her active involvement in industry trade associations. While she loved this part of her career and learned a great deal, she realized that retail was where she was meant to be.
Before setting out on her own, JennyO honed her skills at two of Las Vegas’ premier jewelry stores. From 2008-2013, she was with MJ Christensen Diamonds, where she became, in addition to a top sales professional, a Hearts on Fire Champion (and thus one of the top salespeople in the world for that brand) and a sales manager who inspired others with her passion, her sales skills, and her product knowledge. During her years at MJ Christensen, JennyO represented the company in the local community at charitable functions and industry events, and she was nominated for the Women’s Jewelry Association Award for Excellence in Retail. From 2013-2017, she was Store Director and Brand Ambassador at T-Bird Jewels. In these roles, she created and oversaw the production of many one-of-a-kind pieces and was also the store’s top sales professional and the owner’s right-hand woman. JennyO is particularly grateful to Darryl Kulwin, T-Bird’s owner, for his mentoring, for giving her the chance to learn from his 40-plus years of experience in the jewelry business, and for the management opportunities he provided. She considers it a great honor to have represented T-Bird at a wide variety of trade shows, exhibitions, and conferences in the United States and Europe.
In addition to her Gemological Institute certifications, JennyO has throughout her career been an active member and officer of the Women’s Jewelry Association, an organization very dear to her and also, she believes, an essential element of her business success. On the personal side, JennyO and her husband Chris are the proud parents of two young daughters.
