This is a great place to get away. We needed an overnight camping spot and knew of this DEC area. Asking for and receiving a free permit for one of the camping spots couldn't have been easier. This area is very well maintained and very easy to access. Restrooms: The outhouses were very clean and easy to find. Picnic area: The picnic area had a very nice pavilion and plenty of parking.
Love it here. It is very clean and well kept. Plus I love how it is free to camp, but that a permit is needed. That way, you are able to reserve the spot like you would at a paid campground. We stayed at site 2, which is right next to the outhouse. There is not pond access from this site, but there is a small trail that gets you close. Otherwise, the site is flat, spacious, and has a picnic table and fire pit available.
Beautiful quiet pond decent fishing and hiking. Camping spots are available though I have not personally used those.
Beautiful park, not sure I should talk it up, it could make it less accessible in the future. Anyways, you do need a permit to camp there, but that was easy enough, and camping is free. There is a boat ramp, but NO CELL SERVICE!
Our favorite place to go camping, kayaking, hiking, and all around outdoor family fun.
Nice place queit
Lots of weeds around the banks so not too many places to fish. The dam is probably the best spot. If you have a boau to paddle around in that would be best. Lots of camping there but u need a permit, not sure where ud get 1 or how much though.
State Park with fantastic blue gill Ice fishing . I also caught a nice large mouth bass . Fun way to fill up your day with catch and release fishing. Not busy with people. I only saw one person who came later that day to ice fish. Dozens of picnic table sites with parking all around the pond . Multiple choices . Plowed during the winter as well. Quaint and isolated area.
Vary enjoyable, nice view of the water. But vary little fish, and not as clean as should be left. Not enough porta potty.
Good sized sites. But they seem like they are very close together. Great fishing. Took our 38' motorhome in for a weekend. I would not recommend it for that style camping as the majority of people that frequent the park are tent campers. We felt out of place. Officials are very helpful over the phone. And friendly. We would absolutely go back just leaving the motorhome home.
