The Hyland House Museum is a colonial house museum in Guilford, Connecticut. The house is a red saltbox-shaped home built in 1713 by Isaac Parmelee. It has been open to the public since 1918. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.The House was restored in 1917 by the architectural historian Norman Isham. The restoration was funded by the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities.The The house features Colonial-era furnishings and artifacts.

You can get lost in time here! Seriously, I could have moved in and lived happily ever after! No modern day distractions. Loved the herb garden! I highly recommend you visit Hyland House.

Beautiful piece of history. The people that run tours and events here are fantastic. Went here to see a blacksmithing demonstration and toured the house.

Beautiful Saltbox, interesting guided tour by knowledgeable docents, beautiful old artifacts and so much history to learn about!

I lived here for a year when I was a kid. It is extremely haunted. Terrifyingly so, hence 4 stars. Beautiful to visit, just don't stay the night.

Incredible home with some extensive history. The family running the home and tours are beyond amazing and so full of knowledge.
