Hymie's is the must-stop restaurant for me when I visit family on the main line. It has that feel of a main stay institution that has rightfully earned its reputation over decades. Once seated service is prompt and friendly. Menu is extensive with local and Jewish staples. Everything I've tried has been exceptional with a special nod to the Nova salmon fish platter.
Just nasty, a $15 hoagie that look like a poppy store hoagie. My boyfriend ordered while I was on the phone and the man repeated my order back to me and still put what he wanted on my hoagie. How old are those onions?? I asked for extra onions and lettuce, I got little to none. I don’t taste my black pepper or the oregano, and I see no Mayo on the roll. I specifically said no red peppers seeds and he still added them to my sandwich. I WILL NEVER RETURN!! NO THANKS!!! Hope I don’t get sick ‍
What a great lunch we had at Hymies. Fresh just baked rye bread stuffed with generous portions of corned beef and pastrami that melts in your mouth. Hymies is the perfect reason to never have to be yearning for a NY Deli. It's always the same... DELICIOUS!
Was in the area and stopped for breakfast. Delicious challah French toast, delicious bagels, delicious lox spread, and homemade white fish salad. The portions were generous as well. My suggestion would be to serve maple syrup instead of processed Smuckers on that delicious French toast and clean or replace the coffee maker. That coffee was not good. But we'll be back anyway. I just won't order the coffee
First time customer of Hymie's. Been hearing good things for years. Today, I had a taste for a hot sandwich. I couldn't decide between pastrami or corned beef. Based on the reviews I went with the pastrami. Big disappointment. The sandwich was not hot. The bread was barely toasted. The cheese was cold and stiff. Worst got pastrami sandwich I've ever had. I might consider going back to try the corner beef. Maybe. At least they gave a lot of fries and ketchup.
Always enjoy their Cornbeef sandwiches. They are loaded. Excellent desserts of all kind.
Been going to Hymie’s since the 60’s. They remain one of the Best Delicatessen in the Philadelphia area. The food is the freshest and best ingredients that you can buy. And it is delicious!! Was raised in the neighborhood and no matter where I travel to, it is really difficult to find deli as good as Hymie’s! Especially call out for their Corn Beef Special as well as a multitude of delicious soups. Well worth the trip for some of the Best Sandwiches you’ll ever taste!!
I just had my first visit back to America in three years, and made absolutely sure to get some of the corned beef here before I left again. I can’t wait to come back again. I’d happily recommend this restaurant to anyone on Earth.
Unfortunately my food was poor quality. There was a piece plastic in my sandwich and hair in my fries. Granted, I order through GrubHub so I was able to get a refund. But, I was disappointed when I spoke to the manager and he didn't offer any solutions or an apology. Before I stopped eating, the Rebuen itself was bland. The dressing was watery and also very bland. I wished they wrapped it in aluminum to keep the cheese warm and gooey. If it wasn't for the issues with the hair and plastic I would've rated it a 2.
I’ve been going to Hymie’s for at least 6 years. This was one of my mother’s favorite places to dine. She transitions a few years ago. I decided to go for my usual. I had the pastrami Reuben which was very good with the exception of our waitress. She wasn’t very attentive to me and my husband. She had us waiting for everything that we asked for even the check. This wasn’t the first time that her service was not good. I didn’t want her once I seen who our waitress was but gave her another chance. That’s it for her. My husband will not eat there again. We’ll do takeout the next time.
