THEY STOLE MY APPENDIX! lol. I went into the ER last night with abdominal pain and it ended up being appendicitis. I felt so welcome and comfortable here. Every nurse and physician were so nice and comforting. I stayed over night and had the surgery in the morning. I swear it felt like I was on vacation, but with a stomach ache! lol. The anesthesia guys were hilarious and cracking me up. I thought I would be nervous and scared to have surgery, but I knew I was in good hands. Hopefully I don't find myself in the ER again anytime soon, but I know that if I do then I will be very well taken care of! Thank you to all the staff that helped me get through this!
The nurses and doctors here are very rude. They don’t do their job at all. My aunt is blind and can’t walk. They refused to help her change when she had accidents, barely checked up on her even when her breathing wasn’t right after continuously telling them about it, got angry when she would go and bathe herself after they didn’t want to do anything, etc. The list can go on. We had another incident where THE SAME NURSE my aunt had told my brother-in-law that all he wanted was a excuse and medicine from work when he was in a lot of pain. She claimed because he was young he would be able to “shake the pain off”. What type of establishment is this? Clearly unprofessional!
Drs were rudy and don’t care about patients I brought my child into the ER for a rash he was screaming it burned and the doctor told me it was a strep rash. I explained he has had it since he was born and I needed them to give him any type of meds to stop the burning until I could get to his doctor. He told me that was irrelevant and sent us to the triage where there were walls with chairs in an open room with people that were throwing up, coughing, crying and we didn’t see anyone for an hour then comes back with negative strep test and sent home. No help at all! New Iberia needs to do better
everyone gives this place a bad rep but every time i come here i get the best service… the dr and nurses i can’t remember names to save my life were so great with my son today and so nurturing. I’m very grateful. they listened to me and got down to the problem. i felt very heard. <3 1/5/2023 12pmish
Some of the rudest staff members you'll ever meet. Tried making an appointment, they ask for reason, as I listed symptoms not even halfway through, I was cut off, told they wouldn't see me for that, and sent directly to the nurses voicemail. Almost impossible to get ahold of they link you to a voicemail of someone that won't return your call. Almost impossible to pay your bill without having to go pay in person, as their portal has no such option. At this point, I'm sure this place is detrimental to the people's health. No rhyme or reason to their outdated practice, loyalty to the patient, only to their boards and the pharmaceutical industry. I don't recommend at all, unless you want a pharmaceutical dependency or have a death wish.
We are from franklin. We have been to this emergency room 3 times. And all 3 times they have been exceptionally nice, and as crowded as they were it kept flowing. I guess because everyone knew what to do. The drs, staff nurses were so nice to us. I had surgery there also. Brought my dad there a couple of days ago. To the staff at the hospital , I know it gets so routine for yall but we thank you for being so nice to us. God bless yall
I had an amazing experience with the ER yesterday. I went in with abdominal pain at about 9:15am and was worried it was my appendix. I checked in and was in the back 30 minutes later. They took blood, examined me and then did a CT scan and confirmed it was my appendix. I was in surgery a little after 12 and discharged around 3:30. I interacted with about 12 people throughout my time there and every single person was amazing. They were all very friendly, very knowledgeable and I was constantly being checked on and reassured. I know there aren’t a whole lot of choices of where to go either way, but I can honestly say that I would choose to go back here any time.
If you want to be misdiagnosed, treated like garbage and want to die this is the place to go. The ER staff is horrible. I like to know who is ahead of this hospital and allows this to go on because their staff is horrible.
Iberia Medical Center is a great place and deserves a second chance. I’ve had bad experience and excellent experience with them. But they are improving. They’re getting much better and the care is great. I’ve given birth twice in this hospital and met such kind nurses and staffs. I’ve brought in my my mom for emergency when she got burned and they took wonderful care of her and rush her so quick. Not even 3 seconds and emergency was at the cars door. I’ve brought in my daughter a couple times the last 3 years and some days she was taken seriously and some days we wait hours until she actually gets check on. But one thing for sure if it’s a true emergency they will not let you down.
My grandmother is in and out of this hospital. Shes got multiple health issues and no matter how severe the problem they continue to push off major surgeries and procedures due to COVID restrictions. Since when does covid take precedence over human life!?!?! I'm livid. To top this off the only SURGICAL Gastro doctor at the hospital refuses to treat her due to an argument he got into with another family member. Even after I apologized and promised he would never have to deal with that person again, he refused to treat her. Since when does a grudge with family member allow a doctor to withhold treatment? I thought doctors take an oath to care for patients, putting their best interest first? Now my grandmother will have to be shipped to another hospital and then shipped back after for monitoring by a non surgical gastro doctor. What sense does this make? Why doesn't IMC have more than one surgical doctor for gastro issues? And what is a NON surgical Gastro doctor? Sounds like a general practitioner to me...complete waste of time and just another doctor collecting insurance money! I promise this is the last time we visit this place. I will NEVER go to this hospital for my own treatment, I'm done giving them the benefit of the doubt. This is no way to treat patients.
