Wow! If I could give 0 stars, I would. All we wanted to do was take my Mother to dinner for her 86th birthday. The overall rating for this place looked good, menu looked good online. I should have read further. The hours list the restaurant opened at 4. We called for a reservation and they told us 5:30 because of the size of our party 8. Seemed like a good sign right? My husband and sons got there first and the woman I refuse to say lady rescued to seat them because our reservation was not until 5:30, yet there was not a single soul in there. She finally sat them, placed a pitcher of water on the table, and walked away. We arrived shortly after with my Mom, and we also greeted rudely. Let me give you a quick bullet list of what happened next. I provided pictures so you can get the full effect. Please note that she sat us in a corner by a door. You can see our view! 1. I had to get up after 15 minutes to ask if someone would be coming to get our drink order. The woman, who was working on a puzzle or something, said “Your reservation isn’t until 5:30.” It was 5:29. When I said that the restaurant was empty except for us, she told me it was none of my business! 2. My Mom asked for iced tea and was told they only had Coke, Sprite and Diet Pepsi. Fine, Sprite. She brought out a can and a glass of ice. Note: we would have left right then but my Mom is older and it is not easy to get her in and out of the car. 3. The salads and garlic knots need no explaining if you look at the pictures. 4. I have had better pasta at chain restaurants for a much lower price. Average entree cost is $24. The aftermath is yet to be determined because I have to admit that I wouldn’t put anything past this woman. 5. My Mom ordered a cannoli $7.50 and asked for a cup of decaf coffee. No coffee, just espresso? When we got the bill we were floored. Remember the can of Sprite? $4.50! This place needs to close their doors or someone should shut them down. Sorry Mom, we will make it up to you.
Well, where do I even begin. My family and I went out for my grandmothers birthday to what we thought was a high end Italian restaurant spoiler alert we were wrong. We first made a call earlier in the week to ask about availability and they only had a spot open around 530 which we openly took. When we arrived at about roughly 5:10-515 the parking lot was completely empty they open at 4pm we walk inside and the hostess staring at us through the window doesn’t even greet us when we walk in, matter of fact she stated our reservation was for 530 not 515 and wasn’t going to sit us down so we continued to ask to be seated until she finally huffed and puffed and sat us down when the restaurant was completely empty. We sat down she put a pitcher of water on the table and walked away singing as we waited to be offered any kind of beverages for the first 15 minutes she was more interested in her crossword puzzle rather then taking care of us. Luckily I got a 5 dollar can of sprite which she sat down and walked away. Next came our bread which was not only covered in garlic but hard as a rock. After I ordered my lasagna and the waitress ripping the menus out of our hands shortly later out came stouffers lasagna. After we all ate she put the check down mumbled thanks and left. Customer service at its best. Save your money and go to papa johns you’ll get about the same care and save $160.00 in the process.
I should have read the reviews but we just moved here from Pittsburgh, saw the restaurant was usually full so one night we tried it. Yes as people have stated, very large portions, but I could opened a can of tomato sauce not pasta sauce and poured it over frozen raviolis and saved myself $20. I have no problem paying for good food but this is not it
Terrible servcice the cook and the hostess were our server, only 3 beverage choices one of which was water , uncooked bacon instead of panceatta and prosiutto in my pasta and way too salty. The staff was intermittently arguing and screaming at each other throughout the entire meal. No wonder there was only one other table seated at 6PM . NEVER AGAIN!
I had the lobster ravioli in vodka sauce. It was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend this place. Big portions, family owned/operated, really great food!Food: 5/5
A family run business. If you love southern Italian cuisine, this is the place for you. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. Pictured calamari Fra divalo, scallops, chicken and mushrooms and baked ziti.
First off, we had a reservation for 7:30pm and when we got there they said our rez was cancelled. No one called them and cancelled. Then, the owner had the tenacity to make us wait outside in the cold for our table. We then asked why we couldn’t wait inside and then she lashed out at us telling us to leave and stop being rude. Honestly I think she had it in for us from the start because we were Asian. Beware this place.
The food is very good, but their attitude sucks. The last three times we tried to go they told us to come back later. Will never go backFood: 4/5
Five of my coworkers and I ordered to go food for the first time and we will never go back. First we were either overcharged by $20 or their menu prices went up drastically and was never updated on their online menu. Can't say which for sure because I didn't get a proper receipt and they kept the credit card receipt when I had to take the food back. Then one of my coworkers had a gray hair cooked INTO a meatball. I called, let the lady who took my payment know. I asked for a refund and she told me to bring the food back. Fine. I brought it back and once there she was very hostile and said there was no way there was hair in the food even after she was shown the hair that was very clearly cooked into the meatball. Then she refused to give a refund for one meal and we spent $175 for only 6 meals! She had the meal remade but no one wanted it. Bottom line, I only wanted a refund for one meal, but will now never go back. Over-priced and clearly not using proper food prep items like hair nets.
What makes this restaurant so favorable is the kindness of the staff to make your visit pleasurable. You want real heavy cream for your coffee instead of half and half, the chef will pour it personally. The young woman who waited on us was just so eager to make us happy. Her attitude was contagious and probably made us better diners. The food was wonderful. The marinara was delicious. As you know, not every sauce is created equal and this chef could turn out a sauce that made you want to lick the plate. There are signs on the menu about gluten free options and requests to not share. My sister and I ordered a chicken Parm and an eggplant Parm with different pastas. We told the waitress we were going to split our dinners so we could have both choices. The kitchen staff provided all the little extras like plates, knives and serving spoons to make sharing easier. I do want to mention that this restaurant does have a calamari fra diablo dish on the menu. The menu has the safe Italian choices like baked rigatoni, ravioli and lasagna. I love when a restaurant is creative. This restaurant is not creative, they do not offer nightly specials or have a soda fountain. They don't serve Italian coffee, though the tv is set to watch Italian news in Italian. This restaurant deserved all the stars simply because the family was invested in me, the diner.
