Equipment is well maintained. Some of the staff are very nice. Some of the staff are incredibly rude. Gets very busy after the parking meters become free, so if you go in the evening expect to wait especially for weights. Gym is very well supervised. Inclusion of a pool indoor/outdoor and a sauna makes it an overall above average gym experience.
The facilities are great. Well-spaced, clean and including a big diversity of working machines. The pools are great during the summer and running track above allows you to skip the threadmills if you don't like them. Overall, a great place to exercise.
A 4 flour gym with 2 swimming pool, 1 sauna, 1 3 flour high rock climbing wall. I had no idea it was that good.
Really awesome for a college gym. Lots of machines, and the indoor rock wall and pools are a lot of fun. They also have special events here sometimes, like Bernie Sanders! Great place to bring a guest with a weekend pass, as there are a lot of things to do here.
Nice/clean college recreation center that's packed with many different facilities. It's usually full of people but if you go at the right time then it's manageable. The gym seems pretty small considering the amount of kids that attend the college so be prepared to wait if that's where you go. For whatever reason, the badminton courts are almost always full so it's best to reserve a spot ahead of time if you plan to play.
Amazing place for students. My only complaint would be it's so huge I could get lost. Has all of you possible recreational needs; gyms, track, pool, a rock climbing wall personal favorite, equipment rentals are cheap too. If you're close and are looking for a place to blow off some steam, definitely would recommend the ARC.
It's a great place to work out when it is empty....it is way to small for this large of a university. 5 squat racks for 30,000+ people, 8 stair masters? But countless treadmills and elipticals. Just wish they would better maximize the space somehow so it would not be so crowded
They have all the weights and cardio machines and even a rock wall. After 5 PM everything is extremely crowded and often there is a 10 or more minute wait for a squat rack on which people sometimes do deadlifts when there are perfectly fine deadlift platforms.
Fully equipped sports center. Indoor/outdoor swimming pool, plenty of basketball, soccer, volley ball, badminton, squash, racquetball... courts, lots of cardio machines, very good weight-lifting area, climbing wall, running track... If you can, avoid busy hours between 5pm and 9pm, specially for the swimming pool and the weight-lifting area, and take advantage of the fact that they close at midnight during the semester.
Great place to workout! For UIUC students you must show your ID card to enter, so don't forget your ID at home! There are two swmming pools one indoor and one outdoor so you can swim all the year. There is also fitness class everyday check the calendar online. To get access to the fitness class you need to purchase the fitness pass. There is a lot of fun and options there, so don't miss your opportunity to feel healthy.
