The Illinois Wesleyan University Student Senate serves as the voice of the student body. We are committed to representing the needs and opinions of the students to the campus administration and providing the Illinois Wesleyan campus with a forum for discussing important matters. The Student Senate focuses on bettering the campus for all students, alumni, and future students of Illinois Wesleyan University.
The IWU Student Senate is comprised of forty-one senators from Residence Halls, Greek Life, students living off-campus, as well as certain Registered Student Organizations. The Executive Board of the IWU Student Senate is made of the President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Parliamentarian, and Commissioners. The current Standing Commissioners are the Communications Commissioner, Media Commissioner, University Events Commissioner, Awareness Events Commissioner, and the Civic Engagement Commissioner. The IWU Student Senate hold General Meetings every other Sunday during the semester at 6 pm in the Davidson Room of the Memorial Center. These meetings are open to the entire campus and students and faculty are welcome and encouraged to come to meetings and take part in the discussion.
