I went in for a sinus infection. Nurse practitioner gave me 10 10mg prednisone. One a day for a sinus infection. What kind of medical personnel doesn’t give antibiotics for a sinus infection? DON’T GO HERE!!!! The urgent care nurse practitioner is only interested in giving Covid test. He doesn’t know what a sinus infection is. I don’t care how far I have to go but I’m not going back there!!!!
I debated on writing this but I feel like people need to know what they could potentially be getting into when they go here. I brought myself and my two year old son in here last week, we come here quite frequently when anyone in my family is sick as it's not even 15 minutes from our home. We had had a cold, terrible cough, and the worst sore throat for almost a month. I kept thinking it would get better, it did not hence why I wanted us checked out. We arrived, checked in, were immediately put in a room as they were not busy, and triaged. I confirmed with the nurse our medication allergies; mine being penicillin and azithromycin since I was 5 years old, 20+ years - one causes facial swelling, the other hives, my son's being amoxicillin. We were seen by an NP; I have nothing against NP's but I have more issues out of them than an MD so I usually ask for an MD but on this particular day, we both felt so bad, I didn't care, I just wanted relief or answers for both of us. She looks us over, does her exam, says our strep test came back negative and that what we have is bacterial instead of viral, we'll need a round of antibiotics and should be good to go. Within 20 minutes, we've checked out, I get in the car and go to leave, look down at our After Visit Summary and my son and I both were prescribed azithromycin. I immediately call to talk to someone as my toddler was tired, hungry, and I did not want to drag him back inside but the girl who answered said she was working remote and "having a hard time getting a nurse to answer all day". After being on hold for a while, I just drug myself and my toddler back in. I told them what my issue was and instead of coming out to speak with me, the NP had one of the front desk girls going back and forth between us. Then they try to tell me, "you aren't allergic to azithromycin, you're allergic to something else that ends in the same thing, you both should be able to take it" and that's when I had had enough. I'm not risking an allergic reaction to something I KNOW I'm allergic to and have been for 20+ years and my child out of convenience for this staff. Needless to say something else was called in although they wouldn't tell me what it was so for all I knew it could've been something else we couldn't take. I was also told, "if the antibiotic doesn't work for your son, he'll need to see his pediatricin, not us" AND the medicine was not called in until super late. I left the clinic around 7 after having to go back in and I was not able to pick up my medicine until almost 11 PM. I called the pharmacy around 8 to see if it had been called in, they had no record of it. Finally around 10, they had got it and were working on it. I can't help but feel as if it was prolonged because I came back in and asked for something else. I am not usually a patient who comes in, asks to be treated, and then wants the treatment changed, I'll usually take what I am prescribed. But when I have blatantly told you what me and my child are allergic to, it's flagged in both of our charts, and you ignore it? That's a red flag.
If I could give 0 stars I would. My general doctor was supposed to be Marcus Washington and instead of helping me he did nothing but lie! My OB kept calling to cancel/ reschedule my appointment weeks and weeks out. I decided to make an appointment with Washington to see if he could help. I was told he couldn’t see me because he’s not OB. Not only did Washington leave a note lying saying I canceled my own appointments which I didn’t but he also made assumptions about my ultrasound referral request. If you’re looking for a doctor that cares, keep looking because this office isn’t it.
If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I’m going to try and be as respectful as I can. However, my frustration is above and beyond what any words could ever describe. If you want to be see in a timely manner, it will not be here. Anyways, I arrived with covid symptoms. I was so sick, I almost had to crawl through the door rather than walk through the door. Then, the lady at the front desk said it was going to be about an hour wait. I was there for three hours minimum. When I finally got into the room, they took my blood pressure and heart rate. I had a 102 fever, and my resting heart rate was at 150. They didn’t tell me that that was dangerous, nor did they call EMS. Then, they confirmed that I had both Covid AND Mycoplasma Pneumonia. Before sending me home. Then, I got home, and my heart rate had increased again to be 160 not even 10 minutes later. I had to call 911, and when EMS arrived, it was going between 150 and 170!! When I finally got to the ER, they asked me all the questions they normally ask. Well, I let them know what this place had done, and how the nurse never blinked an eye at how high my resting heart rate was just an hour prior. The ER doctors and nurses all confirmed that they definitely should’ve sent me straight there. They had to do a chest x-ray, blood work, IV fluids, an EKG, etc. I wasn’t even allowed to go to the restroom with how bad it was. They had to put a beside toilet in my room for me to use the bathroom. I called them to complain, and the lady who answered the phone said that the person in charge was in a conference call. She said that they would call me back within a few hours. It actually took a few days for her to respond. I tried to explain the situation as nicely as possible, but unfortunately, I can’t justify coming back.
They were fast even though they had a lot of people there when I arrived. They were friendly and considerate. Very understanding about my problems and sympathetic. I will return
Ok, I know this place can do better in wait time, definitely...but my family Dr is Kizer and she has been one of the best Drs I ever had, she listens to me and care, she help my 18yrs old daughter with her fibromyalgia condition and get the documentation she needs for her job to accommodate her. Honestly this days is really hard to find good Drs the wants to help you and care about their patients, I'm not talking about the walking in patients bc I know for fact they can do way better, but my own experiences with Dr Kizer and the nurses it's been phenomenal
You might as well go to the ER than this place, the wait times are anywhere from 2-3 hours, with 4 providers how can that be??? And don’t blame it on the holidays, it’s ALWAYS like this!!! Go to Urgent Care Shelby, 1010 E. Dixon Blvd. for QUALITY EFFICIENT urgent care needs, they’re open 8-8 7 days a week
I pressed 1 star but it should be 0. Saturday, I felt so bad, I called immediate care in Gaffney sc. She said to make an appointment to he seen quicker. Made it for 11:45 am, I got there at 11:40am waited in the lobby for 30 minutes, they put me in a room for 20 minutes, a nurse FINALLY came in asked me 50 questions, 30 minutes later another one came in and took a covid and strep test, it'd now 1:22pm and still haven't seen a doctor. I asked if there was a Dr. In the building, they said "she should be in shortly". Dr Kiser came in the room asking the same questions the nurse asked, stayed for LESS THAN 5 MINUTES and left. Someone came in the room 1:50pm and gave me a shot. Finally left there at 2:00 pm and still had to wait ANOTHER 2 HOURS for my prescription. God know this is the truth, so if anyone think Immediate Care means quick, fast, soon, in a hurry. PLEASEEEEE Do. Not. Go. There.
I went to this urgent care to get tested for Covid because I had symptoms- put me in lobby waiting for three hours and waited another 45 before they came in to test me. After that another thirty minutes to get discharge- still didn’t have my results. This is a sorry excuse for healthcare-. The Rapid lab test Covid takes only minutes not hours. The staff seem to not know what they are doing and some are rude
Dr. Lanfranco is amazing. He always addresses my concerns and explains everything to me. He is very thorough and seems genuinely concerned about my health. I look forward to my Dr visits because I know he cares and will take good care of me.
