INCA International Nature and Cultural Adventures

About

INCA has been delivering some of the most outstanding adventure and learning experiences in the world since 1976

Description

We have long been one of the leading companies offering small, intimate adventures because we hold ourselves (and our trips) to especially high standards of quality and safety.

Wherever we travel we are downright fussy about our guides, itineraries, accommodations and transportation in order to give you the best possible experience.

A Bit of History
INCA (formerly Inca Floats, Inc.) began in the 1970's as a family adventure when Bill Roberson, a scientist and professor, and his two daughters, Kim and Marika, traveled to Peru and the Galápagos Islands. They had such an adventurous, silly and educational time that they couldn't wait to share it with their friends. And so a company was born.

In 1996 Inca Floats became INCA, International Nature & Cultural Adventures, to reflect our new adventures outside of South America. INCA is now more than the Roberson family supplying, guiding, and cooking as on our early treks. We have grown at home and abroad with dedicated, talented staff here in Emeryville and in each of our destinations. Along the way we have continued our devotion to making each trip enriching—as hassle-free and as comfortable as possible for each of our travelers—without sacrificing any of the adventure while doing it.
Our Exclusive Associates
Providing trouble-free, enjoyable adventures requires constant attention to details where it counts—at the trip location. So we carefully select some of the most important people on your trip—our overseas partners, who work exclusively for INCA travelers. Our thoughtful and caring friends in Ecuador, Peru, Galápagos, and Turkey do it all—from getting roses for your sweetheart to tracking down missing luggage to finding a doctor. They're on call, 24 hours a day, just to take care of you.
Adventure with a Conscience
We are proud to be one of the first adventure travel companies whose corporate mission statement expresses principles of ecotourism. We are committed to increasing the awareness of human responsibility toward the environment; to working with conservation organizations to protect the animals, plants and artifacts of the special places we visit; and to supporting the local economies by employing local associates who share our vision. As an INCA traveler you participate in sustainable pleasure in the wonders of our world.

We used INCA to organize our Galapagos trip on the ship of Integrity and were beyond impressed. It's a life-changing experience to be in Galapagos and INCA planned every detail to be perfect so we were totally immersed in the experience - make you feel like stepping back in time to the beautiful planet before human ruined it all. From the minute we exited Ecuadorian custom, there's someone waiting for us, and every step of the trip, we were taken care of ever since. It was flawless planning and execution. The naturalists Patti and Steve on Integrity and main island Santa Cruz were both so knowledgable, attentive and interesting, you never get sick of talking with them. We made new friends live-aboard looking for whales on the deck, snorkeling with hammerhead sharks, and watching amazing sunsets together. Staff to guest ratio on our trip is 9 to 7, so we were quite spoiled. The Wifi signal on the ship comes and goes, but it made us closer without knowing what's happening outside of the paradise and immersed completely in nature. Food in Ecuador is not very diverse or amazing in general, so there was not much anyone can do. When I got sick, the chef made me chicken soup and rice, and that made me feel like home. They make fantastic soups on the boat. We are looking for other trips with INCA because of our positive experience in Galapagos. The communication from their HQ was also great prior to the trip, I must have asked a million questions via emails, and got polite & detailed answers without fail every time. What an amazing company that truly understands how to deliver perfect customer experience.
Offered very expensive 8 person Alaska Song trip summer 1918. Failed to do due diligence and described a trip that was no more. We felt like caged animals on a 90 foot vessel that had us ashore for one hike, not daily as described; a total of zero fresh fish, crabs daily as described. The substance of all meals, was frozen. One skiff was out of commission, with no back up plan. There were three very nice crew members, not 4, doing the trip for the first time that summer. In short, it was the worst, most expensive trip I have ever taken. And the INCA owners did not even offer a token refund. The failure of INCA to find out the major changes marks them as no longer competent tour operators. Try someone else. Bob Winton
Great people to work with. Professional, responsive, ethical...they really care. My wife and I had the trip of a lifetime in Ecuador and the Galapagos. INCA creates enduring memories.
The lobby is pretty awesome.
