The Indianapolis Lithuanian School (Indianapolio Lituanistine Mokykla - ILM) has been teaching Lithuanian language and culture children and adults since 2006. It is a part of Lithuanian-American Community of Indianapolis.
The Indianapolis Lithuanian School (Indianapolio Lituanistine Mokykla - ILM) was established in summer of 2006 by a group of enthusiasts of Lithuanian-American community wanting to teach children and adults Lithuanian language and culture. Thanks to the dedication of many volunteers and parents' support, the ILM has been celebrating its 7th year.
Also, ILM school plays a big part in enriching Indianapolis Lithuanian Community events, by preparing Kaledos/Christmas plays, concerts and dance performances. Our students and teachers participate in the Indy 500 parade, Indianapolis International Festival, Lithuanian Folk Dance Festival and other events in Indiana and out of state.
Currently there are 6 classes (incl. adult class), 8 teachers (incl. music and folk dance) and close to 30 students in the school.
As often, such non-profit organizations exist because of generosity of sponsors. If you know of someone or a company who would be willing to support ILM, please let us know.
