We hand make all of our chocolates, using recipes brought from Denmark over 50 years ago! Our chocolates are made with the finest, fresh ingredients and no preservatives or additives. We have a large array of seasonal and holiday chocolate gifts as well.
Ingeborg's traditional Danish Chocolate recipes were first brought to Solvang by Ingeborg Larsen, who opened her tiny chocolate shop here in 1961 and was later joined by her sister, Carla. Ingeborg had worked as a chocolate dipper for one of Denmark's largest chocolate factories, and eventually opened her own chocolate shop in Copenhagen, Denmark. When she came to America, she brought with her from the old country many of her original recipes, some of which are now over 70 years old. With her sister Carla, she began Solvang's new tradition of handmade chocolate artistry.
In 1976 Bent and Inge-Lisa Pedersen purchased Ingeborg's Chocolates from the original Danish sisters, and continued the tradition of offering original Danish chocolates to Solvang and mail orders around the country. The Pedersens operated Ingeborg's for 35 years, and in the summer of 2010 retired and sold the business to Aaron and ElseMarie Petersen and Kim Jensen and Carol Krivulka.
Together, Carol and ElseMarie are proud to be the new operators of Ingeborg's and are dedicated to continuing the Danish Tradition of Ingeborg's Chocolates, offering only the purest and highest quality of hand made chocolates and candies. Ingeborg's creates over 70 different outstanding chocolates, all hand made and boxed on premises. Just a quick glance in the rear of the shop will show Ingeborg's factory, and the two women hard at work making and packing their chocolate delights.
