Ingomar Volunteer Fire Company provides emergency response for fire and rescue emergencies in the Town of McCandless. Specifically, Ingomar VFC responds to incidents involving the following:
• Structure fires
• Vehicle fires
• Brush fires
• Automatic and manual fire alarm activations
• Motor vehicle accidents with entrapped persons
• Motor vehicle accidents involving "high mechanisms"
• Motor vehicle accidents involving leaking or spilled fluids
• Physical rescues requiring specialized equipment or considerable manpower
• Natural gas emergencies, including fires, leaks and odors, both inside of structures and outdoors
• Carbon monoxide alarms and emergencies
• Odors of smoke and odors of unknown origins
• Hazardous materials emergencies
• Incidents involving electrical utilities, including downed wires, damaged utility poles, and transformer fires
• Removal of trees or other debris from roadways
• Providing light for other public safety agencies (police and EMS)
• Responding to other public safety incidents, as needed
