We greatly enjoyed our stay here. We loved the view of the ocean from our patio window, it was nice and quiet throughout the evening, and the breakfasts were wonderful. It was nice to have the chairs out back overlooking the ocean, and stairs giving access to the beach below. The location was great, very close to the park entrance, making it easy to quickly find a parking spot on the Park Loop road after breakfast to begin our activities for the day. There were some nice restaurants nearby.
Our two-night stay truly exceeded our expectations, from the quality of the inn to the excellent service provided by Dax and Sarah. The location is ideal for visiting Acadia National Park, as it’s just a short drive from the main entrance but away from the crowds. The property and rooms are beautiful, and the rocky beach is a destination itself with Cathedral Rock and “The Ovens”. Make sure to go down at low tide to walk along the shore to see everything. Breakfast each morning was not only delicious but also perfectly portioned. The bed and linens were far superior to those in most hotels. I would not hesitate to recommend their inn to family and friends, and I hope to return in the future!
Beautiful bed and breakfast just outside Bar Harbor! The property is truly unique - the ledge and private beach are stunning. Dax and Sarah and Stanley are the sweetest hosts; breakfast was always delicious. My partner and I stayed in one of the cottages, so a bit more private than the main house and we really enjoyed our room.Rooms: 5/5
My husband and I had a two night stay at the Inn for my first time visiting Acadia, which was perfect, as the location is within a 5 minute drive of the parks entrance. Sarah and Dax were the perfect hosts, happy to help with anything to make you feel at home, while also giving as much privacy as wanted. Breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious. Happy Hour was fun to have a chat and possibly sneak some pets from their adorable puppy Stanley. Definitely recommend and will be back for another visit.
A truly memorable stay with Dax and Sarah at Inn at Bay Ledge. Their attention to detail is remarkable.... always ready with a smile and willingness to make their home feel like your own. The views from the porch are stunning. A lovely spot for enjoying the homemade breakfasts and afternoon tea with cookies. The location is ideal for trekkers of Acadia National Park and many local towns. Highly recommend. It is hard getting used to life without Maine. Hope to return to the Inn one day. Rooms: Lovely, large, and well appointed. Only minor critique: the bathrooms are very small and the shower stall is quite tiny. But the generous hot water made up for it!
Great get away outside of Bar Harbor. The view and access to the bay are fantastic. We watched the sun rise, the moon rise, otters, a couple of dolphins, and a bald eagle which appears to have a nest next door. The inn is lovely. The grounds are great. Dax and Sarah are gracious hosts and breakfasts are yummy. What else could you ask for?
Absolutely beautiful place to stay! The views are unbeatable, the breakfast in the morning is SO GOOD, and its location is very convenient. Only minutes from downtown bar harbor and a quick drive to Acadia National Park. I will absolutely be staying here next time I visit. Dax and Sarah are incredibly kind and welcoming and their hard work to make the place beautiful does not go unrecognized!
Truly a remarkable place to stay. My wife and I were there last week for 2 nights and it was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Sarah and Dax are perfect hosts. The morning breakfast on the back porch or dining room overlooking the bay was as good as any 5 star restaurant. We watched the sunrise from the ledge overlooking the bay one morning, it was a sight to remember. The next day we spent some time walking the beach below the cliff at low tide, a private and beautiful place. We were in one of the cottages and the room was very nice. I would highly recommend the Inn at Bay Ledge as the place to stay in Bar Harbor away from the crowds and tourist bustle. - Sarah and Sax - Thank you for the wonderful stay. Rooms: Clean, beautifully decorated and furnished, and quiet. The perfect setting. Food & drinks: Dax is an excellent chef. The morning 2-3 course breakfast is fresh, unique in preparation and flavor, and combined with the location makes a great start to the day. The afternoon treat is always freshly baked, we has lemon ricotta cookies one day and Texas chocolate sheet cake the next. Noteworthy details: The ledge with stairs to the beach are something special as is the view of the bay from the ledge cliff
What a lovely experience! Sarah and Dax were so welcoming and helpful. Breakfasts are home made and delicious. The view from the ledge is postcard worthy. Although our room was small it was comfortable. Comfy bed, great sheets and towels. We enjoyed a cold plunge and a sauna one morning. The location was so convenient for jumping in and out of Acadia National park which we did several times. Loved being outside of Bar Harbor and the bustle there. Can’t wait to go back!
We loved Inn at Bay Ledge! Everything was so charming and cozy. The Inn keepers, Sarah and Dax, are absolutely lovely. The Inn sits in the perfect place so close to Bar Harbor, but feels romantic and secluded with its beautiful spot overlooking the water. We stayed in the Cottages at Sunset Pines #1 across the street. The room is cute and woodsy with a nice little path over to the inn. Breakfast and afternoon treats were wonderful! Highly recommend bikes on the carriage roads, and early morning hikes around Acadia!
