Inspiration Art Academy is a visual art and sewing studio in Old Town Longmont that has children, adult and adult/child visual art and sewing classes, Summer art camps, birthday parties and "Girls' Night Out" parties and "Date Night-Drop Off" art evenings for children. Basically, something for everyone! Come explore your creativity, get inspired and have fun making art!

Summer Day Camps
Let’s have fun creating art! Art Campers will learn and practice many different art materials both 2-D and 3-D. We will make art inside the studio, outside in the parks and Old Town. We will explore our creativity using critical thinking, problem solving and have fun making art!

Full days/week: 9am-4pm, $185, One full day: $45
Half days/week: 9am-12pm, 1pm-4pm, $125, One half day: $30
Week One: June 30-July 3 ($160, 4 day week)
Week Two: July 7-July 11
Week Three: July 14-July 18

Each day will include a morning and afternoon trip to one of the 3 parks within 3 blocks of the studio to create artwork in nature. Once a day we will visit one of the many art galleries downtown to learn how galleries can interest young artists (scavenger hunts, how to ”read” a painting, etc.), drawing, painting, collage and sculpture activities each day and a read-aloud then free time with our large library of children’s art literature.
*Campers should bring sack lunch and we will picnic in the park!
Mondays: TEXTURE TIME: ART THAT HAS FEELINGS!—Murals, read about Jackson Pollock, drip/spatter activity, metal embossing with nature objects etc., Eric Carle-like collages with handmade texture papers. Construction with textured materials.
Tuesdays: COLOR, COLOR EVERYWHERE!—Tye dye t-shirts, Color mixing games, free painting, mural painting, colorful tissue silhouettes, wet-on-wet watercolor painting, colored paper sculptures and rock wax-coloring.
Wednesdays: ANIMAL ADVENTURES—Rock animals, animal junk sculptures, sock animals, drawing “what we see”, fantasy animal mural, scribble animals and learn about Henri Rousseau.
Thursdays: PRINT, PRINT, PRINT: THE ART OF REPETITION—Black glue prints, styro-print cards, shaving cream prints, marker prints, Collage and sculpt with our prints, “Banksy” surprise public prints.
Fridays: DENVER ART MUSEUM FIELD TRIP or ART IN OUR NATURAL WORLD—collecting natural items in park-then create sculptures at studio, “plein air” drawing techniques, oil pastel/watercolor tree landscapes, nature collages and Andy Goldsworthy.
