Integral Health Records is a company designed to prevent patient medical and medication errors. It is a safe guard in the medical field by being fully informed to prevent these errors. Integral Health Records is run by a Nurse that has received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, seeing the need for a comprehensive medical health history summary to benefit the patient. Not only is the physicians on the same page but so is the family. In the case of an emergency it is hard to remember important health history; Integral Health Records makes it easier.
IHR came about I took my healthy daughter to the emergency room for treatment. She had severe abdominal pain and all I was worried about was comforting her. I am a Registered Nurse, I know how important health history is, and I forgot so much stuff. Nothing serious, but information needed to be known. I sat there imagining a mom of a chronically ill child, how easy it would be to forget. With Integral Health Records, the parent would have an up-to-date summary of the history, they can hand to the medical staff. I am a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse, I see the infants who are so sick, or have syndromes with a lot of health history at an early age, how does a non-medical parent remember what is important? How does any parent remember what is important, in the midst of an emergency? In Northeast Indiana, we have several pharmacies offering “deals” free antibiotics, free diabetic medication, or low cost blood pressure medications, none of these pharmacies information systems are connected, the physicians no longer have a double check system on what they prescribe. It is now more than ever to be on top of your medical care, my summaries help patients and families to do this.
