It's my 3rd year in IFA PARIS as a fashion designing student. I love the school. The course is amazing.. it's a truly dedicated school towards fashion. And I am glad I am a part of it. Printed notes are provided by the school. The school contains 2 main floors. Ground containing almost 15 classrooms in which there are 3 production rooms with sewing equipments. 3 main pattern making rooms. 1 computer lab. fashion designing rooms with mannequins and cafeteria. With 1 vending machine and 1 coffee machine. With a water dispenser and a kitchen with 4 microwaves. The second floor is mainly for the administration department, but there are 2 other classrooms too. Teachers with good knowledge and innovative ideas. Fashion shows are conducted, and the school also provides opportunities with internships. All subjects are taught in English and some groups are offered French classes too.
A great Parisian fashion school. It has a mix of international students and lecturers with many diverse experiences.
I'm not sure about this. Before joining the school I asked few graduates who graduated after doing their bachelor's, they said that they weren't offered an internship even though the school mentioned they will offer in the beginning, it true? Plus, I was told that the administrative s are so unhelpful towards students. Just want to know the truth before joining. Looking forward to hear about your response
One of the best university for Fashion in Paris
IFA is a good institution for more experienced seamstresses and seamsters. If you are expecting to learn starting from the basics, your expectations maybe shortlived. IFA has a really good marketing program. Most of the resources provided by IFA are better suited toward career interest in marketing. Marketing students learn french, get wine tasting classes, workshops with industrial professionals, fashion events, etc. These things are not provided to design students. For fashion design, I'd research more options if you dont have previous experience. Having credentials is always a great thing to have when establishing a career, but in some cases it maybe better to invest the money spent on attending IFA into your fashion business, if you already know you want your own fashion business. Have a good sense of time management - you will barely have enough time to complete assignments at a personal satisfactory level. Because of how the courses are outlined the coursework is squeezed within tight timeframes and the time provided doesnt fully allow you to learn the technique, familiarize yourself with it, and then start the design process to start and complete the assignment. Teach yourself professional development. There is not much help in terms of how to present your work, create a competitive portfolio, land internships beyond dressing models for fashion week, etc. You really have to have initiative and know what you want as a career in fashion to really maximize what IFA may have to offer you. If IFA is your choice make sure you have ALL the finances to cover your expenses. Buy a sewing machine and mannequin. There are always issues with the equipment due to student having poor practices when using the machines. Having a job is not impossible but with all the inconsistencies of time tables, you need to have the ability to adapt...because nothing is really set in stone except the attendance policy. You really will lose your mind!!!! Have very secure mental health/support systems. No one really has your back at this school. It's all you. This school is a hard adjustment if you come from education systems that are little more internally structured and established. Be prepared to be really involved in your matriculation process if you want to learn. Independent work is the motto from many teachers. Without a sense of direction the teachers will barely be of service for you. There are certain staff members who are helpful, but there are also many who are not. Like many things, IFA is quietly political of "favorites" and special treatment. If you arent a favorite, good luck. There are a lot of lessons you can learn in and outside of classroom, but don't have too many expectations with this institution. Prepare yourself!!! You are expected to do A LOT of independent work. YouTube will be your best friend and many of the teachers will actually suggest you use YouTube to learn many techniques. Teachers are only available during class times. There are no office hours with teachers. Teachers dont have times for additional aid outside of class. There are no advisors to help guide and council you throughout the process. There are no representatives or positions in place that really support the student. Administration is really defensive to feedback and dont take the concerns of the students well. Students are kind of blamed for everything. It is ALL YOUR RESPONSIBILITY at this institution. This institution is still fairly young. It's still in the growth stages and as a student you can really see, feel, and experience where the real interest plays and it's not necessarily with the students, but further developing the school. They want THE MONEY and that's what they care about, not the creative and career development of the student. There isnt any support toward international students social adjustment for being in Paris in general. The adjustments in terms of Visa, car, etc is ultimately all your responsibility to learn. I'm not saying IFA is a bad school, but IFA definitely isnt a school for everyone.
Hey I'm a degree student but my dream is to become a fashion designer sooner or later I'm planning to drop this course so I want to know addmission criteria about this fashion institute I hope if you don't mind how can I get more information from
My study experience during the Bachelor of Fashion Marketing in IFA Paris has been amazing. It is an excellent fashion school that provides in-depth knowledge. Furthermore, the lecturers have real experience in the fashion industry, and the projects that they assign us are helpful and useful, preparing me for a great career through learning and doing. Moreover, as I study here, there are a lot of opportunities to work in the industry, and I have done internships in Madrid, Paris, and Berlin. Additionally, it helps my profile stand out from the crowd due to my education and fashion internship experiences. Studying and living in Paris, the fashion capital, for three years is the best experience of my life, and I will never forget it. I would highly recommend it for studying fashion and business in IFA Paris.
Hello, I am thinking to join IFA so I know want to know what is the fees structure as I tried to find it out in the website but I wasn't getting it and plus I have financial problems so I wanted to how much will it cost and how much expensive it will be.
I am pursuing MBA Luxury Brand Management from IFA Paris and the environment of the campus is quite international. The teachers are humble and well experienced and the lectures are not just theoretical but practical as well. We have been to various field trips starting from the first week of the course including the perfume museum, photography exhibitions etc under IFA and apart from this-IFA keeps us updated about the various seminars and exhibitions in Paris about fashion and luxury and also provides free passes or discounted entry fees to students. Its quite a nice experience and I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to study in the field of Fashion/Business.
