The International Law Section was founded in 1987 to serve California lawyers handling international legal matters in a wide variety of areas, including corporate and business transactions, litigation and arbitration, tax, regulatory and trade matters, bankruptcy, intellectual property and family law. Since January 1, 2018, it has been part of the California Lawyers Association. Formerly, it was part of The State Bar of California.
The Section organizes programs and events at State Bar meetings and around the state, as well as publishes and distributes two key publications -- The California International Law Journal, a collection of practical articles on various aspects of international practice, and an online law newsletter, The California International Law Newsletter.
