We unfortunately had a very bad experience with one female member of this team. We are recovering from Hurricane Sally in September 2020 with a lot of trees and limbs down in everyone’s yards. Some neighbors were burning a small pile of leaves when the St. Elmo Volunteers showed up to issue a ticket. Nobody in our household realized we were in a burn ban so I thought I would go ask the people in the truck when we could legally burn the debris . Very simple, or so I thought! I walked to the drivers side and said excuse me, I have a question. She quickly rolled up her window and said she had to turn the truck around at the end of the road to let a car through and she would come back and talk to me, I said okay and stood at the end of the driveway for her to come back. She came down back down but was going very fast so I flagged her down and stopped, rolled down her window and started screaming at me that she didn’t have to answer any questions that I had! She started laughing hysterically, rolled the window up and stomped on the gas! She bumped me with the fire truck as she took off! I was in shock! I just wanted to find out when we could safely and legally burn the debris from the storm! She acted totally psycho for no reason. Maybe she has drug abuse issues?? Idk. A big liability to that volunteer dept. they must be desperate for workers. Very sad. I lost all respect for that dept and will tell everyone not to send them money when they harbor people like that.
I cannot say thank you enough for how quickly you got to our property.
Very Dedicated Group of Volunteers
