Blue ribbon school, a lot of renovation through out the school.
School looks terrible, some teachers are amazing but a lot are terrible, it's extremely competitive.
There really isn't a difference between a normal Irvington student and a CCA student. You study the same material but sometimes instead of essays CCA students would do art projects/group projects. The art classes are fun though to those who are really interested in visual art. Band/Marching Band is also fun. I've created a lot of good memories because of our band reviews and all that jazz. If the student takes Honors and AP classes, well... life's going to be hard I'm warning y'all, especially if you go through the accel. Math path. If you want your child to go to this school, they need to be prepared for the massive amount of work teachers will give to students. Change, WIP, and QUEST will be really hard if the student can't handle a lot of work. In my opinion, the benchmark projects are somewhat useful and at the same time useless. I mean, you could use it to apply to jobs. Source checks idk why these exist will really enhance your ability to know whether things are credible hah i dont find this useful at all. Other than that, the people are really nice and respectful not to some teachers though. If you stay with hardworking people, that will really help you to work harder. The school is really diverse, so students are very welcoming. Well that's all I have to say I guess. Let's go Vikings :P
This school has absolutely the best art/music departments. Sciences are good too. Just stay away from math honors as there is no standardization. The only negative is that too many AP courses allowed to be taken by students, leading to unnecessary peer pressure and crazy workload for students.
Will work you to death and show absolutely no mercy. A survey conducted here showed 90% of students were under extreme stress. DONT MAKE YOUR KIDS GO TO THIS TERRIBLE SCHOOL!
As a Freshman mother communication between school and family is my first concern. Irvington staff are easy to reach out and are absolutely committed to the sucess of your teenager.
This school is okay, teachers and students are ok. Change, WIP, Quest are a joke. Literally, those projects are a waste of time.
The theatre program is fantastic! CCA Arts Magnet Program is perfect for students who are into the arts.
Horrible place, I wouldn't mind if they teared the whole place down and replaced it with a more proper prison meant for people that actually deserve to go there like it legit ruined my life I would rate negative stars if I could
Work you to death, teachers don't communicate but there are some good teachers .
