Inspired by the vibrant colors and visual richness of my childhood in Guatemala City and Madrid, the strong, bright colors, which always find their way to my canvas, combine to express my zest for life and adventure.
Enigmatic faces with diverse facial emotions appear and captivate me as I help bring them to form and life. I wonder who they are and how they came to be on my canvas. I suspect a lifetime of observing people subtly brought my ability to capture such faces into my hands.
While influenced by many artists, I follow only my own imagination and see it as my only limit. I approach my easel with no preconceived notion of what is about to unfold, yet as brush stoke follows brush stroke a dance is created between the paint, the brush, the canvas, and me. From this connection, a work of art and of love begins to form.
I am mostly a self-taught artist. My art studio is in Marin County (San Francisco Bay Area).
