Islamic Center of North Pittsburgh

About

The ICNP is being established and developed to serve the needs of the Muslim community in the North Hills Pittsburgh Area.

Description

The idea of a new mosque (ICNP) in the north suburbs of the city of Pittsburgh was born in the year 2005. The community is 24 miles from the nearest mosque (ICP) and 36 miles from the next closest mosque. Numerous members of the community have been actively working for the establishment of the Islamic Center of North Pittsburgh.

The formation and registration of the organization took approximately one year. Since the formation of ICNP we have succeeded in buying a 4.2 acre plot in 2006. After we bought the land we set upon the difficult task of getting approval from Marshall Township.
Alhamdulillah, in December of 2007 we received the approval from the Marshall township. During this time wegeneral plan for our mosque. The elevation of the ICNP building and various sketches are shown in this brochure. The plan includes a main prayer area on the first floor, a fully-equipped kitchen, toilets, wudu area, a place for washing bodies before funeral prayer, etc. The second floor will be a multi-purpose hall which is designed to be used as a youth activity center. This hall would also be used for future meetings, social events, Quran classes for children as well as adults and as an additional prayer area when the main prayer area over flows for example during Eid.

In the future, ICNP also plans to use the premises for Sunday school and if possible a full time Islamic School. The ICNP not only provides for the immediate needs of the local community but also assumes the responsibility for attempting to keep the Quran and Sunnah as the guidance for future generations of Muslims.
To make this dream a reality, we need everybody's help. We are requesting all Muslim brothers and sisters to please support our project and help us build this house of Allah. Please visit our website www.icnpgh.org to see how you can contribute.

Mission

To promote religious harmony, justice, peace and understanding of Islam in North Hills community according to Quran and Sunnah by establishing, developing and sustaining a vibrant ICNP.
