Israel Food Outreach partners with Gleanings for the Hungry to send food to Israel. Gleanings for the Hungry provides the food (and quilts) and Israel Food Outreach (IFO) raises support to provide the funds to ship the containers of food to Israel. It takes approximately $12,000 to send a container to Israel. Half is the expense of shipping the container. We do the paperwork and make sure the container will be properly received in Israel. The second half of the money is a tax that goes to the Nation of Israel. So, while we are sending food to help the poor, we are also blessing the whole nation with the funds we pay for the taxes.
The food consists of dried soup mix and dried fruit. We also send handmade quilts that are designated at this time to be given to the Holocaust Survivors. ( We are pleased to announce that we have more groups coming online to hand make quilts.)
The food is distributed in Israel by 60 to 70 ministries that feed the hungry people in Israel.... no one in need is excluded. The ministries we distribute to include Bridges for Peace, Christian Friends of Israel, and many others.
We supplement the approximate 60-70 outreach programs in Israel with nutritious dried soup mix which feeds the orphans, widows, elderly, maimed by war, in refugee camps and settlements of this small war torn country. God called, we answered. Will you answer?
