"It's a Sensory World!" is a center that offers a variety of multi-sensory educational, recreational and therapeutic services for special-needs children.
Founded in October 2007, It’s a Sensory World! was created by a parent in search of the perfect program for her own child and a highly dedicated teacher. Both women had a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs and their families.
For children with developmental disorders like Autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Sensory Processing disorders and other special needs, multiple therapies are rendered one-on-one by a trained professional to overcome specific challenges. However, once kids are discharged from therapy, or for families who are unable to continue therapy due to the expense, it is important they continue maintaining and building upon their skills in a real-life context.
Children may also find it difficult to participate in mainstream recreational activities as their language and social skills may not be age-appropriate. It's a Sensory World! is a natural progression from therapy into the world of real-world activities. Our center was created to bridge the gap between therapy and mainstream educational and recreational activities.

* To support families to be active participants in their child’s rehabilitation and connect them to resources within the community.
* To be child-centered in our approach to intervention.
* To work as a team with our students’ teachers and therapists.
* To provide a safe, affordable and multi-sensory environment that is both therapeutic and recreational for children with special needs and their siblings.
