Bought a dress for my daughter's prom and when we went to pick it up it was the wrong size and they told us a new one with correct size would be ordered. 2 weeks later we went back to pick up the dress and realized they just made butcher type alterations and tried to pass it as a new dress. The owner/manager who assured me a new dress would be ordered never came out from behind the store to give explanation about this. Finally the saleswoman confirmed they only sale what's on the floor and they don't order anything. This place is complete scam, they had the nerve to want to charge me over $300 for a dress they tried to tell me was new, when it was just altered at the store.
My experience there was nice then turned awful. I was shopping for 2 dresses for my twins. One daughter found a dress there and the other liked another dress at a different store which gave us a discount and same dress for lower price. When we returned to the store to get the dress the owner gave me an earful about how they worked so hard on us and we went somewhere else. After I told her that I got a discount she told me that she would have done the same but did not know that is what we wanted. And then proceeded to charge me full price for the second dress. I told her that she never mentioned any kind of discount even after I told her salesperson that we were going to look in some other shops as well. The response of the salesperson was oh you will be back. Then she told me that it is kind of like going to a restaurant and they cook for you and you leave and eat it somewhere else. I was so upset about her coment because - one I did buy a dress in her shop and two they did not do a lot of work for us. She does own a dress shop and that is her job to help people find a dress or not. I would never go there again and would not recommend the shop to anyone. Its all about the sale for that dress owner and I guess in my case one sale was not enough. She wanted both. The other shop had much better customer service and no pressure to buy.
After shopping tediously for hours for my daughter's senior prom dress, my daughter and I were able to find exactly what she had been hoping for at It's Simply for You. Rachel, the owner, was very patient and very willing to accommodate my daughter's needs. The tremendous selection of myriad dresses was impressive, and not overwhelming, like other stores in the area. We were able to find shoes and earrings that match with the prom gown. Conveniently, as we were walking out of the store, we were also able to find a cute, short dress for her high school graduation. Overall, we were both extremely pleased with the staff and quality of the boutique. I have recommended this store to multiple friends of mine, who have also successfully shopped here.
I can't say enough wonderful things about this store, their selection and the owner. The owner has been so helpful and accommodating. She was incredibly patient with me and really took the time to help me find the right dress. We ordered a dress for my daughter's Bat Mitzvah. The dress came and wasn't what we expected. The owner didn't want my daughter to wear something she didn't love do she allowed us to purchase something else and bat an eye about the old dress. She was wonderful.
I went to It's Simply for You the first time in February 2010 when my middle daughter found the dress of her dreams online. I live in Connecticut and this store was the only one in the tri-state area that had the dress already in stock. We traveled down and she tried the dress on but it looked horrible on her. The dress had everything my daughter loved. It was all bling on the top, tulle on the bottom and was mermaid No matter how hard we tried. we could not make the dress work. After almost a half an hour of pulling it in the back and what not we realized it would never work but it was ok because my daughter found another beautiful dress that she wore to her senior prom. Perfect example of why you should never order a dress that you didn't try on first. Fast forward two more years to daughter # 3. She needed a blinged out dress for her formal eighth grade dance. My daughter found the one she loved in the Seventeen magazine but wanted to have fun trying dresses on It's Simply for You had so many short cocktail dresses one was prettier than the next. About two weeks after our first trip the dress of her dreams came in and when she tried it on she knew it was perfect and ordered one in her size right away. Fast forward almost three more years to December 2014 and we just went to It's Simply for You because we were on our way to visit my sister who lives in Long Beach. I had called the owner, Rachel, because at this point she knew what my girls liked. I gave her a few dresses that my daughter found online. She told me it was early still and she didn't have all of the new prom dresses yet. We arrived early in the day and Rachel had about 5 dresses already picked out for my daughter to try on. The first was a black Sherri Hill and surprisingly we LOVED. It was very different from the typical prom dress. She tried on a few more and they were very nice but didn't knock our socks off the way the Sherri Hill did. Well, on came a blue Jovanni and that was all bling in the front and very blingy in the back. This dress was all about the back. It was in our price range so we went home with a prom dress the Saturday before Christmas. No one was shocked more than us because we usually like to shop the tri-state area for weeks and weeks before make the selection. On final fast forward to January of this year. My daughter found the Sherri Hill dress of her dreams. Because my daughter got a job this year and works so many hours and always every weekend we were worried that we wouldn't be able to get down to Syosset. We went to a local store here in CT that had the Sherri Hill dress. Again, in my mind I was not going to buy anywhere until I went back to It's Simply for You. The Sherri Hill was stunning BUT this dress store could not get a size 2. Only a size 0 or the sample which was a size 4. If we bought the size 4, the alterations would have cost a fortune. I called Rachel and asked her if she could get the Sherri Hill in a size 2 and she checked and she said she could get it. I think she either owns other stores or has family members who own other stores but she was able to get the dress. We drove down to Long Island on the Friday before Martin Luther King Day and she had the dress. My daughter tried that dress on with other dresses and once again fell in love with the Sherri Hill. I am actually sad that I probably won't be going down there now unless my niece lets me shop with her for her prom in a few years. Thank you again Rachel and your staff for helping my daughter find three dresses that made her feel so beautiful. Your customer service and selection is OUTSTANDING!!
Everyone in the store was so helpful and friendly. They made me feel welcomed and helped me to find my prom dress. It was an awesome experience going here to find my dress, but also my shoes. Loved it and I know when my sister's prom comes she will be shopping here too.
I went here for my senior prom dress in 2014, I ordered a Sherri Hill dress costing over $400. When I went back for my first fitting I realized my dress wasn't the actual dress because the zipper was in the wrong place, there was makeup on it, stains, and cheap gems stitched onto the fabric. When I said to the owner that this wasn't my dress she told me that it was my dress by Sherri Hill and that I just forgot what it looked like and also she would take care of the stains. Later on that day after another visit she admitted to forgetting to order the dress and instead of telling me she decided to make it herself and pretend it was the real thing and in the end still wanted me to pay for the dress and over $100 in alterations. Go somewhere else this place was terrible. I also ordered my dress over 3 months in advance and the owner never took the time to tell me of her mistake.
My daughter decided she wanted to go to prom 3 weeks prior! YIKES! We only had 1day to find the perfect dress considering both of our busy schedules. Simply for you was only the 2nd store we went to after going to the 1st which advertise a "large selection" of plus size dresses And to our disatifacation all the plus size dress were the same & very basic empire waist. After Googling other boutique in the Plainview/Syosset area it brought us to Simply For You, where we found a gorgeous gown! The staff was nice and helpful. She even gave us a nice discount & agreed to do the small alterations at no cost. When we picked up the dress not only did she deliver on the things she promised the dress look more beautiful then when we purchased it! I can't thank you enough!
This store is great. They have a wonderful selection and the women working there are very helpful when you are picking out dresses and trying them on. My two daughters, who are very picky, both found dresses in one trip. We are even customizing one of them. I definitely recommend this store.
The sales people are very attentive before you buy the dress and once I purchased my dress they just yes you and don't put in any work. I bought a dress that I got shortened and it took 4 times visiting the store and i still had to take it to my cleaners to fix the sloppy work they did. The stitching was bumpy and unacceptable. After pointing out the messy seams they sewed they promised they would fix it. After picking up the dress it was not even touched to fix the seams. THIS STORE GAVE ME AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!!! AWFUL
