Ciao, my name is Simona and I am the head teacher and the owner of The Italian School of Dallas.
I was born and raised in Italy, and I have been teaching Italian to non-Italian speakers since 1996. Commitment and consistency are definitely two attributes that if possessed by the student will make progress a lot faster, but finding the right teacher and the right program can do a lot to make the whole experience fun and gratifying.
I believe that teaching a foreign language well is an extremely difficult job and should be approached by serious and committed professionals only.
Why Study with us? Knowing a subject well does not necessarily make you a good teacher. My knowledge of Italian language is accompanied by solid expertise and the right attitude. My teaching know-how derives from years of experience in the classroom on three different continents, teaching all ages and types of students with very different learning skills, needs and motivations. My personality also makes me a natural teacher; I am intuitive, very patient, empathetic and love interacting with people; I am a very positive person and know how to keep my students motivated. Plus, I know that creating an environment that is relaxing, intimate and conducive to learning is very important; therefore, I always try to offer my students a place where they feel at ease and in no way judged for their errors. Being relaxed, sharing a relationship of mutual trust and respect with the teacher, being unafraid to challenge oneself, is in my opinion fundamental to the students’ learning process.
Here at the Italian School of Dallas these are our guiding principles that all of our teachers follow.
So, if you live in the DFW area and have been thinking about learning Italian for a while, go ahead give us a try, you won't regret it!
