Clean store with friendly service. However, nowadays the prices are way too high for what the merchandise is. They were asking $320 for a cheap, ill-fitting men's suit that was made out of synthetic fiber and didn't even have any real wool in it. Similarly, men's tops go for $40-$50. This store isn't a luxury store, but it features luxury store prices. That being said, many of the Stafford JCPenney's store brand menswear products, especially the ties, are of very high quality. I have a Stafford brand suit that I purchased from JCPenney many years ago for only about $200 that is made with real wool and really impresses.
Have always been a patron of JCPenney, I love the quality of everything they sell.
J.C. Penney is an all-star classic. Great deals, better clearance, super clean store and helpful staff. One way or the other, I always find what I need.

We went twice this holiday season and will never again. Rude customer service! The second trip I returned the items I intended to buy to the shelf and walked out. Wow! Stunning! It’s as if the employees were trained to act this way.
On 10/16/22, I purchased a Citizens watch at your Bangor, Maine location. I had the pleasure of meet Janice your sales associate. Janice was very knowledgeable about the products and patient while I mulled over my choices. She also went out of her way to get me the best sale price!!! Kudos to JCPENNEY'S and especially Janice!!! Clean store with a good amount of men's apparel. Could use a little more lighting.
Has a great selection of husky clothing for boys
Even though there is no many stores left at the Bangor Mall Penny's is still there and this is most definitely one of the better ones. I wish they would in store stock the men's big and tall size 6xl and not make it online only
Shoppers need to come more often here. There's always clearance racks, holiday prices are great in clothing sections. The foundry clothes in men's section are heavy duty and priced fair. Sales on those things are worth watching for.
