I have never been to a Jackson Hewitt location. I called for help with booking the appointment and got no answer. I left a message and did not get a call back until today. I booked at one location but when I arrived there was no one there. I waited 20mins before having the appointment transferred to a different location. Upon arrival at the new location I was very clear that I was not familiar with the process. The women working with me explained that the money is a loan and the funds would be taken from my return. She never explained any fees. I anticipated paying interest on the loan, however the rate was substantialky higher. None of the fees were disclosed to me. The computer was set up behind plastic so even when the screen wss turned to me it was impossible to read. Near the end she said they offered 3 options for protection. None of the options were to opt out. When offering me the serve card I tried to read the laminated sheet and asked about any feee, monthly, yearly ect. She told me the only fees are atm fees. I was livid when I found out the card has a $5 monthly fee!! Then when everything was done I couldn't read all of the papers she was transferring my signature on because the screen was blocked by the plastic wall. She printed out the documents, gave me the card and told me I would get an answer with in an hour and that most people get it before they leave the office. I spent half the night refreshing my email looking for any kind of response to my application. It had me so stressed out I couldn't sleep. I looked over the paper work and was flabbergasted! Over $600 in filing fees and bank fees plus 35% interest! Literally none of this was disclosed to me. It wasn't until 930 am that I finally got an email from the bank. 14.5 hours later than I was told. What little information that was given to me was a lie. And to pay over $600 in fees for a $300 loan is not only insane, it's predatory!! Not only will I never use Jackson Hewitt again, I will be sure to let every single person I talk to l and all of my employees to never under any circumstances use this service. I file my own taxes every year for free and get the maximum return possible. This service is a joke and I will be speaking to my lawyer.
Angela is the best! Very knowledgeable, super efficient, and she made sure we understood how to get a bigger refund next year this was our first year in a new tax bracket, so our voluntary withholdings didn't go as far as we'd hoped. Will definitely come back next year!
We love this location. Have been doing our taxes over here for several years. Raisa is our favorite agent, her carisma is amazing. She’s always very helpful and has a nice smile on her face. We feel very confident doing our taxes with her.
My wife and I used services of Jackson Hewitt for home and small business tax filing last week. It was a very productive meeting. Raisa Kuzmina of Sheridan office in Tonawanda impressed us as an incredibly knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly tax preparer. We are looking forward to receiving an unexpectedly nice return, and are very grateful for her help. We would highly recommend her services to anyone.
Lack of professionalism and terrible attitude. I made an appointment with this office at 11 am couples day ago. When I got there at 10:50 am, there was only one lady staff and she was talking to another customer. I told her I had an appointment at 11, she didn’t even bother to check and rudely say something like ‘I don’t know about that. Must be someone else’. So I waited another half hour, during this period she was chatting with the customer, nothing about tax. I had some other business so I left around 11:40, so far I haven’t received any explanation on this from either the office or company. I don’t know about other offices at Jackson Hewitt, but I do suggest people don’t go to this office as their staff is inefficient, defiant and doesn’t give a damn.
