Sweet gem in the neighborhood. Delicious, clean, beautifully prepared and presented. Amazing homemade tortillas.
Great food and service. We tried the vegetarian tacos, quesadilla and chips guac. Everything was very nice. The rice and beans were very flavorful. I would definitely recommend this place. You can see in the pics how good it was.
The food here is delicious, and by far makes other Mexican restaurants pale by comparison. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we had a wonderful dinner! I only wish they would move to LA, so I could be a regular. Certainly, my favorite spot every time I am in town.
This place is a hidden gem. Mexican food done right, prompting one of our party well traveled and in her 70s to proclaim it the best Mexican food she has ever had. Not greasy, not much salt, just delicious meals in a quiet, intimate environment.
This place has got great flavors. Definitely a step above your traditional sit down Mexican. I got the torta de papa appetizer which was excellent. Sort of a Mexican hashbrown. Then the entomatado which is tomatillo and chipotle pork. The flavor was amazing and it came with a tasty fresh made tortilla. The only thing they could do better would be to include some more vegetarian options on the menu.
I was underwhelmed by this restaurant. The food was of moderate quality, not identified when it was very spicy, and priced somewhat above what I would expect. Not worth going out of the way for, at those prices. I'll stick with my local tacqueria for freshly made, to-my-taste Mexican food.
Elevated Mexican cuisine done right. Chef Dina’s food shines with great flavors and textures. The Entomatado pork in a tomatillo chipotle sauce is a great dish as are all of Dina’s signature dishes chicken tinga, Frida Kahlo soup, calabacitas etc. The fresh pea salad has a nice crunch with its green apple garnish and is balanced with a bright lime dressing. My next meal will be the rainbow trout which was a special that hopefully will be available when we visit next. And dessert. Dessert should not be an optional course as Dina’s corn cake and flan are absolute standouts. The corn cake is a smooth cake with almost custard like consistency that incorporates fresh corn, a whiskey drizzle and fresh fruit. And Her flan was praised in the SF Chronicle for good reason. Service is friendly and helpful. Nice wine list and easy parking across the street. If you have been to cafe Campesino, you are in for a treat with the expanded menu. If you are new to Dina’s style you are in for a great meal. Enjoy.
Best Mexican food I have ever had. The place is small but intimate. I recommend anyone who loves real, authentic, organic mexican food to go here.
Food was amazing. Service was typical for santa cruz ... friendly, but unprofessional. Atmosphere feels like a nice version of a taqueria, with way better than taqueria food. The sauce on the enchiladas verde!
Delicious and fresh. Not a taqueria but Mexican cuisine. I can't wait to eat my way through the entire menu. Friendly wait staff too!
