Jaguar Women in Technology (J-WIT) is a student organization at the University of South Alabama created for the purpose of supporting women in technology.
Why Join J-WIT:
The lack of women in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields is a well-documented and much researched problem that exists across the nation, and here at the University of South Alabama.
If you think it is important to recruit and retain as many women as possible in the computing field, you should join the J-WIT!!!
Together, we will help celebrate, inform and support women in computing.

Our Mission:
Jaguar Women in Technology (J-WIT) is a student organization at the University of South Alabama created for the purpose of supporting women in technology. Specifically:
- Increasing the recruitment and retention of women in computing at all educational levels (K-12, undergraduate, graduate, and professional)
- Improving the education and learning environment for women in the computing fields at the University of South Alabama
- Providing communication between students, faculty and professional women in the computing fields
- Increasing knowledge of the contributions of women in the computing fields.
The School of Computing, is an affiliate member of The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT). NCWIT is a non-profit community of more than 300 prominent corporations, academic institutions, government agencies, and non-profits working to increase women's participation in technology and computing. NCWIT can provide funding, scholarship, research and mentoring opportunities to the members of J-WIT.
