Jake's Steakhouse & Sports Bar

Great place to get a steak. The service was great even though we had a huge party of 15. I ordered the prime rib, and it was cooked beautifully. Dinner was ended with the server coming around with a dessert display which I though was genius. I ordered a berry tart topped with vanilla bean ice cream.

Probably the best food in Bakersfield, although they are not in Bakersfield. LOL Intimate place with a great bar and food was fantastic. It's very small. We didn't have a reservation on a Friday night, so we sat at the bar. The bartender was awesome and the food was even better.

Went to Tehachapi for A Sunday afternoon and found Jake's while walking around. Glad I stayed for dinner I had a End cut Prime Rib awww so yummy and the pecan cheesecake . Great service & atmosphereFood: 5/5

They never disappoint! Had a reservation and was seated immediately. Fantastic service. Nice wine selection. Went with the Director's Cut Cabernet. I was hungry for meat and selected the Beef Short Rib with Bolognese Sauce over Penne Pasta. Although the chopped carrots in the sauce were small, they were cooked perfectly, chopped and not mushy. They could have added more! WARNING: Received the bill and they add 3.5% credit card fee on a bill over $100! Pretty tacky. I run a business and accept cc. I would never pass it on to my customer.

Went here for my birthday with my boyfriend and absolutely loved it. I get the same thing every time and he has never been here and really enjoyed the meal!! Highly recommend coming here for birthdays the staff are incredibly nice every time! Really.. have nothing to add about the food.. Because we got up and walked out. Why..? Well I'll tell you why. Walked into this place.. waited on the hostess for at least a nod. But no.. then after we asked if we should seat ourselves. We did..then waited again... For at least a nod. Crickets Bottom line.. for these prices grill your own steak at home.. wait staff is in a completely different reality. And it's not at Jake's... Take the phones away..! Really True story..

Stopped by Jake’s based the reviews. The reviews were spot on. Walked in around 5:45p without a reservation. Place was quite full already. I had the hanger steak with baked potato plus a salad. Buddy had the fish and chips. Food and service was excellent. Highly recommend trying out Jake’s.

What a delicious place to eat and drink. The steak was perfect. The ribs were amazing, and the drinks were on point. Everyone was friendly, and the atmosphere was just right. I'm so glad someone recommended this place.Food: 5/5

The food was pretty good. At our table we got the: filet mignon, prime rip and penne San Remo with spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer. The mashed potatoes were awful. I think maybe they forgot butter and/or ran out of milk/cream so they used water, it was inedible. The seasonal vegetables were amazing and the meat was pretty good not great for the price, I've had better for less. The chocolate 'Van Gogh martini' was great, the 'girls night out Cosmo' was good. My main issue was the service,it was so slow! They did seat us early for our reservation we went early to have drinks at the bar but it was full. while we were waiting, several passing people greeted us and said someone would be with us in a moment, which was nice. Once we sat down we never saw our waitress. It took over 10 minutes to just get water. It took another 25 to order our appetizer and get our drinks. Another 40min before we could order only to find out they were out of prime rib and baked potatoes at only 6pm. Overall we were there for over 3 hours. Once we got our food we weren't checked on for over 40 minutes, so we couldn't ask for a different side to replace the nasty mashed potatoes. I get it, she was busy, but they could have told us they couldn't seat us early if they were too busy to actually serve us. Definitely not worth the price. It seems like they need better management especially for ordering/preparing how much food should be cooked on a busy Friday night and also a better system for seating.
