Jakers prices are a little on the high side, but are well worth it. Very good selection, large portions, and meat cooked as ordered. You might want to split the salads as they are very large! I was very much impressed with the Prime rib. Atmosphere is great and staff was right on top of things.Food: 5/5
I’ll have to say best pasta I’ve had in a while. The clam chowder was perfectly seasoned with what I believe was chili powder and it was absolutely delicious. The servers were amazing and friendly and on top of everything just making this a wonderful thing pace to stop for a meal. 100% recommend.
What a great restaurant! We happened to be driving through Idaho Falls, unfamiliar with the area, decided to stop at Jakers for dinner. I'm so glad we did. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and later by an even friendlier server. She was polite and spoke to us with candor about the wait times in the kitchen and what items to try. The rolls and butter she brought out started the meal. The rolls were hot and tasty. The butter served with it had a lovely sweetness that I was unfamiliar with but found delightful. We had steak bites as an appetizer. It came in a dish to spoon out out in crustini that had a bit of garlic butter on them. It was delicious. The steak bites had a great chew to them and weren't rubbery at all. The mushrooms that accompanied them were great as well. With my entree I opted for the lobster bisque. The bisque was hearty and flavorful. It made me wish they had an option to serve the bisque as an entree because I would be tempted to get that. My dinner came shortly after. I indeed the Cowboy Steak, 28 oz of awesome beef along with a tasty loaded potato that was a bit larger than a softball. The value was right on point with what we received, and frankly, could've easily charged more for the great food and wonderful staff. I will return whenever I'm able. Great place! Parking: Parking can be a bit challenging but worth finding a spot.
The whole place was over the top good. The service by Jordan was over and beyond good. The food was delicious. I totally would recommend getting the creme brulee. My husband would recommend the halibut and the calamari. The caramel apple martini was so good I don't even think I came up from air when I started to drink it. The cost is worth it.
Take out order, fish and chip sub fries for onion rings delete the 2nd side as it came with cole slaw. . And the prime rib, with broccoli and the mashed potatoes. Told 20 min wait. No problem, I have to drive there anyways, I arrive 4 min early, enter the establishment, greeted by the hostess, very polite. I say I have a to go order, the attending to go hostess gave the most dismally sigh, with the ever overpowering eye roll. I proceed to attend to my bill with the pleasant hostess. After a small wait, say 7-8 min. I was paid up and waiting on my order, I could hear the the attending hostess asking the line for the onionrings and mashed, and even the broccoli. After another 6-8 min or so I was told I was only waiting on the onion rings, at this point I asked the attending if I could please get some aujus and some full strength horse reddish. In which she stopped mid listening to my request to continue a off topic conversation with a Co worker. After a substantial time after i was told my order would be ready. Not only did I only recieve 4 onion rings, but the full order of fries, but a tray of cut cabbage, not Cole slaw. No horse reddish and no au jus. Was it worth the $90 tab for minimal service and a incomplete/ incorrect order. I would say no. I'm sure this is possibly an isolated issue, but I can say for sure, that a to go order should be treated with as least as much respect and attention as any sitting customer.
The BEST prime rib and baked potato that I have ever had! Listen people: I live on the East Coast, and I would straight up fly back to Idaho Falls just to have my meal all over again! Don't sleep on the scones either - live it up!
I have no doubt Jakers was, at some point, an amazing, high end restaurant. This is no longer the case. The amount of money we spent here was more than any other restaurant in East Idaho, and the food was the worst we've ever tasted. My husband and I have heard amazing things about Jakers for years, so we decided to give it a try. We were anticipating the high price tag, as well as amazing food. Only one of our anticipations were met. For the appetizer we got the coconut prongs and those were delicious. I was shocked by how large they were. There were only 4, but we were ok with that, considering their size. If this was the only thing we'd gotten that night, this review would be a lot different. Next we received our soup and salad. My husband got the ceaser salad and was disgusted by how soggy it was. He said he could have wrung it out. I got the clam chowder, which was a "premium side" , meaning it was an extra $2.50. I was disappointed by how tiny the bowl was, and even more disappointed after tasting it. It tasted like it came from a cafeteria. Not good. Up next came the main course. My husband got the prime rib, which was amazing. They did a good job here. He also got the loaded fries another $2.50 extra charge... and they were underwhelming to say the least. Barely any cheese placed on top of a glob of sour cream over the fries. My almond crusted chicken could have come from a diner. Nasty is the best word to describe it. It was served over rice, which barely made an appearance. With how cheap rice is, I would have expected more than the 1/4 cup I was given. Plus it was watery. I got the loaded baked potato yet another premium side with a $2.50 upcharge. It was ok, but my husband gave me the sour cream from his fries to help it not be so dry. The bright spot of the evening was our server. I wish I had taken note of her name, because she was very sweet, attentive, and kind. I appreciate the attention she gave us in the first part of our visit, and the freedom to eat and talk uninterrupted once our food arrived. I'm leaving this review to show I care. I care about the good people of E. Idaho. Don't come here for your fancy dinners. Go anywhere else. It is not worth the $100 bill. Mitchell's or Smitty's would have served a better meal.
Amazing meal. I just picked the place because it was so close, but I would drive 100 of miles for this meal. I didn’t make a reservation but was able to sit at the bar, which was still a great time with amazing service. Sorry I eat everything else before taking pictures.
Loved the atmosphere inside and the staff. Just stopped by for a few drinks while traveling cross country. The bartender I'm really bad with names was great and could chat about anything. Not sure about food. Overall it could use a refresh on the outside. Rumor is that they are trying to move to the riverside in the future. Lots of locals were there, so that is always a good sign of quality/consistently.
The BEST steak place I have ever been to. The cut of meat was fantastic & they prepared it exactly how I wanted. Our server, Jeremy, was so fun & very attentive. The fried scones were amazing & so were the Grasshopper drinks! Loved it & try to go whenever we travel to Idaho. It's more expensive, but so worth it. You will not be disappointed!
