Second time going haven't been disappointed yet. My husband had the Red Snapper fresh all the time and I had the Oxtail. Both were equally delicious.Food: 4/5
The food was good but the service was alil off cause she was fighting with someone who was undecided on what they wanted which fell on me but over all the food tasted good. But the hit was that I ordered oxtails over rice and got a beef patty and water bottle.. came out to 27 dollars.. that's too much
Jamaica Grand has consistently had best curry goat for over 7 years since I started going to "Sweet Little Jamaica" while at college. I still drive 40 minutes to buy food because it's the best Jamaican food I've had from anywhere- and they are not stingy with the meat and plantains!
I was driving by and saw there was a Jamaican restaurant and decided to stop. The food was delicious! Portion was great for amount paid. I got Oxtail, rice and peas and an order of Curry Chicken with rice and peas and plantains. No cabbage even though the offer it.
Good quality and decently priced food. Jerk chick was really good. Stew chicken could have been better but was good overall. Lots of space to sit and eat. Parking facilities available. Good spot for a quick bite.
food is amazing! all of it anything chef cooks up is outstanding. staff is awesome and quick and on top of that the music on their speakers is always on point.
I've finally had it with this mediocre place trying to pass itself off as a Jamaican restaurant. This is the second worst oxtails I've ever encountered. Nothing else is worth trying either. If heartburn and bland food is your thing, you will not be disappointed .
The food here is very good and authentic Caribbean food, but they got deducted a star for a few reasons. The first time I went there I got a large curry plate, which lasted me almost 3 days they give you ALOT of food. BUT the curry goat had ALOT of bones. Now curried goat generally does come with the bone in it adds flavor while stewing, but theirs had a ridiculous amount of tiny bones that I ran my teeth into every bit I took. It was kind of annoying. I'm used to getting curried goat with bigger bones and peices of meat, but they do give alot so I guess it evens itself out. I went back to get a small oxtail plate and it was good and had flavor. Not sweet, which I for one enjoyed because some Jamaican Caribbean places I've gone to make the oxtails sweet because of the browning sauce, but theirs wasn't it was savory just the way I believe it's supposed to be. My critique for this plate is that the oxtails were more fat then meat, but oxtails can be a hit or miss with that so I'm not complaining. And last the location is not the best. There were cops there both times I went and a liquor store is right next to it and people are always hanging out right outside. I suggest they move, but overall it's a good place to eat if you're wanting Caribbean food and live in Long Island. I believe I spent under $15 dollars for a large curried goat plate and under $12 for a small oxtail plate which isn't bad. You can go there and get a small plate of food for under $6 and it's a decent amount of food for the price.
Amazing food. I ordered catering for a gender reveal and the food went so fast! Thank you so much!Food: 5/5
For Thanksgiving, we got their coconut pineapple cake. Let me tell you, this is one of THE BEST cakes I've ever had anywhere. It was perfectly moist, had this mild yet addicting flavor and texture, and it wasn't too sweet. I'll be ordering this again for Xmas and will request it at my wedding. Kudos to the bakers!!!
