I love that Von's is essentially Safeway. We were on vacation so it was a little comfort of home. The store is HUGE compared to mine at home. Everything was stocked, found all of what I needed. And the employees were awesome.
Didn't get my prime rib in my delivery order! Called in. To no avail. I tried contacting Instacart, and Vons. No one was willing to help. I bought a second one under duress. It turned to be laden with fat and grissel. Pounds of it! UGH it was awful. Still have had no contact. This was Christmas
Besides the fact that many times they’re out of lactose-free milk or cream cheese or cheddar cheese or pasta, or that you cannot handpick snow peas or crimini mushrooms anymore because they’re prepackaged, they are now charging individually for chili peppers rather than by the pound — 7 pasilla peppers cost $6.93. That’s $.99 EACH!!! Vons is notorious for overcharging, but this is going above and beyond in order to get more money from customers when grocery prices are already at an all-time high. With Vons price gouging this way, I’m going to have to find a new grocery store. UPDATE: While I did receive a reply from Vons, interestingly it was NOT for the price gouging ...
I haven't been here in a while, but Hillary in the alcohol dept once showed my husband and I "interactive" wine labels and we were floored! I had no idea such tech existed, and I have since told all my friends, haha! She was so sweet, and you could tell she genuinely loves her job. So rare these days! Anyway, it just really warmed our hearts how she treated us, and I've been telling myself to leave a review about her ever since. Before I met her at this store, I never knew there were people who specifically specialized in the liquor section of a grocery store. Since then, I've learned so much from her! Every time I've been back, I say hello to her if she's there, and I've seen a bunch of other customers do the same while we were saying hello! Pretty cool that there are still people who are neighborhood "staples" in 2023.
The only thing I don't like about Vons is there machines. You know the ones I'm talking about. The ones that yell at you if you don't put something quite right on the scale. Yeah those ones see you know.

I've lived in this town since 1986 and have shopped at this store since they opened. I've gotten to know many of their long term employees and they are friendly and helpful. I was sort of saddened this morning when I was in line behind a woman that was doing one of the shopping jobs, like InstaCart. The checker made a mistake on ringing up her groceries and was very rude about it and even blamed the woman for making a mistake. Another Von's employee came to help and even determined that it was the checker that was at fault. It would have been nice if she had apologized to the shopper; you could tell that she was very frustrated and pressed for time, but the checker just ignored her without a word and moved onto me. She wasn't a whole lot friendlier with me either. I recognized her as one of the checkers that have worked there for quite a while. It's very unfortunate. I guess if you're not happy with your job its time to make a change.
Okay. Good produce section, but not as good of a store as I remember. Namely, the customer service. The Checker and boxgirl were more concerned about getting the checker's Starbucks drink order correct, than being attentive to us. The Box girl also ended up putting a case of soda on top of our chips and bread among other items, as she was distracted by the requested Starbuck's drink order from the checker
Clean and well stocked supermarket with a variety of product/food. Great produce and delicious meats. Fresh sushi available in delicious. There is a Starbucks inside store.
Great selection of premade sandwiches and even more choice from the fresh deli. Lots of parking too with plenty of trolley stands, I'm a big fan of Vons and hope they come to the UK!
