A nice cozy place for delicious African Kenyan Meal. It reminded me the atmosphere of my home country. Home cooked meals with a fancy twist but very delicious. If you would like to try some Kenyan dishes, I recommend this place, while you there. Don't leave without trying so chapati.
The place looks decent and the waitress was really nice. But the problem was the suspicion on the freshness of the food, me and my partner had abdominal pain the next day. The beef stew had a fishy taste. The samosas are very hard and the kachumbari had no acidityvinegar or lime juice. The chicken stew was nice, i would prefer thigh because i find breast are tasteless and dry. Apart form all that the prising was a little high we felt robed for a 100$ meal for two people.
Authentic African meals, very tasty, full of flavorful spices without being too hot. Good size plates and welcoming, no pressure service. The kind of modest looking hidden treasure not to be missed. And I dare you to resist moving on your chair with the music playing. On my Golden list for life!
If, like me, you're looking for a taste of home away from home then look no further. Authentic Kenyan food that took me back home with the aromatic spices, fresh herbs and perfectly prepared meals. 1000% would recommend, even for non-kenyans!
Came back from there and got the goat, rice and plantains. Plantains were good, rice were plain and fine. The goat had two different parts, first part was re fried, very very oily that I had to use tissues on it to soak up the grease inside, that part was also far from tender and was hard Seems like it was yesterdays then heated by frying it . The other half was tender, not oily and tasted good. It's been almost two hours now and have some abdominal cramps. I may come back there but just for plantains.
The restaurant seems hidden and dark from the outside but once you walk in you feel just like back at home! The Kenyan music in the background and Kenyan tea on display had me nostalgic. We had samosas beef which was amazing and packed with flavour. The nyama choma goat was nicely roasted and the Ugali was soft yet firm. The sukumawiki and chicken stew tasted just like my cucu's! The chapati was thin and crispy. I was a bit disappointed with the portion of kachumbali included in the serving, it's so refreshing and complimentary to the nyama choma that refills should be offered but maybe that's just my love for it speaking. Our whole experience was a delight and very warm by the mama who greeted and served us. I would definitely return and advise everyone to get a piece of the wonderful country of Kenya. Asante Sana!
Very tasty food. I had the chicken mshkaki skewers with plantain. The samosa is delicious, although a bit small. Staff was very nice and greeting. Definitely would recommend.
Came in Sunday afternoon with my friend from Kenya.. everything was friendly and relaxed and delicious. Cannot decide what was the best part of the meal.. we shared dishes. very flavourful. Will go agian.
Great, authentic food. Updated menus with prices would be nice, and someone to make sure customers have water, etc. Also, the TVs are distracting. Would be much nicer with just music playing. But lovely people, and delicious food. Oh, and please add veggie samosas!
I and my sister went to have a dinner and ordered nyama choma which came out very hard to chew but when we told the server she offered to change it and gave us another one which came out perfect. The steack was so juicy and well cooked with amazing taste. Our experience changed from bad to perfect. People who work there are so friendly and open to feedbacks which is not common to other places. I would definitely recommend this place.
