No matter how many times we called them or how many questions we had, they answered with patience and always had time for us. My brother in law was sent off in a respectful and dignified manner. They were on time for pick up and the service ran smoothly. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone who truly cares to send your loved one home.
Avis Boyd-Gaines and the James C. Boyd staff were amazing during the passing of my father. Professionalism, respectful, patient, knowledgeable, loving and so much more. James C. Boyd's staff is top notch and I can't imagine using any other provider.
James C. Boyd provided 1st class service from beginning to end! Key Points 1. James C. Boyd does not have an answering machine. They are so personable, that whenever you call an actual person answers the phone. Our family consistently spoke with Ms. Avis at various times of the day. Whether day or evening, a pleasant voice was always on the other end to assist and offer condolences. 2. My grandfather passed at 12:06 in the morning. Family representatives contacted Boyd & again a pleasant voice answered the phone. Two gentlemen arrived shortly thereafter to take my grandfather to the funeral home. Not only were they polite, they were dressed in full suits! 3. Class & Dignity were the theme for my grandfather's processional. Ms. Avis ensured we were able to secure a horse drawn carriage for my grandfather's journey from Mt. Herman AME to his final resting place. ** Every aspect of service provided by James C. Boyd funeral home was courteous, professional and exceptional. I highly recommend their services!**
Amazing Hospitality, WONDERFUL STAFF AND A MEMORABLE FUNERAL Service. The James C Boyd funeral home took care of my mother’s home going between 2 states. From the moment she was placed on hospice they have taken care of us and initiated all plans to bring her home. They checked on us every step of the way and continued after the funeral. They stood by us and helped us turn a difficult time into a time where we can focus on healing and not about the arrangements! I would recommend them for all and any of your service needs!

This funeral home was extremely insensitive during this difficult time for me and my family. At the cemetery my mother wanted to make sure her mother was treated respectfully and her grave was covered. As I was speaking to my mother letting her know I will wait and she and can return to the church in the limo. One of the James C. Boyd Funeral Home service members stated " well this isn't Haiti and their going to cover the grave" Despite what anyone's opinions may be regarding Haitians and our culture and Haiti , this comment should have never been made. It was unprofessional, disrespectful, and simply poor customer service. Despite any hate toward Haitians, this particular individual should have kept his racial comments to himself. In any career field customer service should be an important factor especially if you work in a funeral home.
My family has always received GREAT SERVICE & CARE from the JCB Funeral Home family!!! I experienced the heaviness of losing a loved one at the age of 9 & then again at age 15. The JCB Family and staff once again gave us the 5 star treatment!!! Though we were in mourning they comforted us and that made the transition a lot smoother. Go elsewhere if you can. This place only cares about money. In my long life sadly have been to many funerals and all have been staffed by professional empathetic service people.... except this James Boyd they are about the all mighty dollar and getting you “out of their hair” as fast as possible. They will nickel and dime you to death..... pun intended

We attended a wake of one of our customers loved ones and I was thankful that it was presented quite nicely. It was elegantly done and very organized. It was a nice experience to say good bye properly.
