Japonessa Seattle

Description

Japonessa features a Japanese core concept menu with hints of Latino flair. Featuring an impressive selection of sakes, wines, and finely crafted cocktails, as well as the city's most extensive Happy Hour, we are the downtown destination for some of the best sushi Seattle has to offer!

Our happy hour runs from open until 6:30pm in the whole restaurant, continues in the bar, patio, and lounge until 8pm, and then from 10pm until close in the entire restaurant again

Japonessa houses the latest talents of renowned Chef Billy Beach. As the opening Chef for Wasabi Bistro and Umi Sake House, Billy's menus have become synonymous with success. Japonessa marks Billy's latest venture with longtime friend (and original Wasabi Bistro investor) Jason Koh. Since opening its doors in August 2010, Japonessa has garnered a tremendous following, as well as earning a nod from Seattle Met Magazine for best sushi in their "Best Asian Restaurants" cover article issue.

The best experience with sushi I have ever been to, and I look forward to coming back. It was great. The fish was so fresh the chiefs were all of the right people for the job! The people bringing the food and drinks don’t know much it’s the waitress’s and waiters who know the go to things!! Just amazing a I will be back for sure best place to bring a Asian date she will melt in your mouth…. Thanks so much says the tiger!,
Incredible sushi- ordered the Tres Diablos and Spanish Lover rolls and was very impressed, even taking into account Seattle’s already high standard of seafood quality. Drinks were reasonably priced and complemented the food flawlessly. Atmosphere was friendly and accommodating- fancy enough to dress up for, but not so fancy that you’d feel out of place coming in from a day at the pier. Excellent experience here, will absolutely be back next time I’m in Seattle!
I am a regular here and totally love it. I always order the ginger chicken, calamari apart from the sushi rolls. I have almost tried every one of them. Highly recommend! Location is a plus, in the heart of downtown and even can see the Seattle wheel from the tables. This time went for dinner here with friends out of town. All the dishes were perfect.
Great spot in downtown Seattle for Sushi. Happy Hour on a Saturday was an awesome surprise and we took full advantage. We made a reservation and glad we did because the place was packed at 2pm on a Saturday. Would definitely go back next time we’re in Seattle.Food: 5/5
Came in during dinner hour and was quickly sat at a high top in the bar area. I loved the vibes of this restaurant, and the bartender was very consistent with his service. My wife and I ordered a hot sake and seaweed salad to share. It was really good! For our main courses, I ordered the scorpio sting roll. I loved the kick the habanero chili glaze gave it, and it wasn't overpowering. My wife ordered the heat stroke roll and we enjoyed the shaved lime slices on top of the rolls.
Stopped in here for a late dinner with my son. We were quickly seated and enjoyed two huge rolls. They were delicious and looked great. The Miso soup Was also on point and very enjoyable. If ever your near Pike Place Market and want some good sushi give them a try.
Food was delicious and staff was very friendly! Great upbeat atmosphere and the prices were not too expensive for what you get.Food: 5/5
Party of 2 and we decided on 2 rolls Madrid moon and scorpio sting with omakase; the server recommended the 50 PC based on how hungry we said we were and it was flawless fish cuts with the perfect amount of food. Our cocktails Sake Sangria and Boy Scout were excellent as well.Food: 5/5
Best sushi I have ever had! The Latin spin this restaurant has sets thier sushi apart. At other restaurants I find myself asking for the spicy options and not tasting the spice. Japonessa brings it! If that isn't your thing, they have plenty of non spicy options as well. The cheesecake was also so Fluffy and delicious. I wish I didn't have such big plans to eat at the market so I could have tried even more of thier sushi rolls!
Great service, great sushi! We were in and out as we were eating our way through Seattle since we only had 24 hours in town and this spot came up as having a great happy hour! They sure do!Food: 5/5
