Dr. Jasmine (Huanjing) Chen is an optometrist in the San Francisco Bay Area. She received her Doctorate in Optometry from UC Berkeley and completed a post-doctoral residency in cornea and contact lenses at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Her expertise includes the treatment of irregular corneas using specialty scleral and gas permeable lenses. Dr. Chen also completed clinical externships at VA hospitals in San Francisco, Reno, and Miami, where she practiced full scope optometry and trained in the management of common eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Prior to optometry, earned her B.S. with honors in molecular and cell biology from Stanford University.
Dr. Chen is passionate about the treatment of dry eyes and vision care through the latest contact lenses, digital lenses, and orthokeratology. She is a currently a member of the American Academy of Optometry, California Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and the Santa Clara County Optometric Association where she serves on the social committee. Dr. Chen is an active volunteer, supporting initiatives such as Berkeley Suitcase Clinic, VOSH, and Bay Area vision screenings. During her free time, she enjoys cardio-kickboxing, dining, and exploring the world, spending time with Mondu the Maltipoo.
