Jasper County Historical Museum preserves and presents the history of our Industry, Agriculture, Commerce, Society ... and our People
Hours:
May 1st through Sept 30th we are open every day of the week, with docent guides available on Thursday-Sunday.
Oct 1 through April 30 the museum does not hold regular visiting hours. Calling ahead giving us a 24 hour notice of your visit is preferred, but we will do our best to welcome walk-ins too. Staff is on site from 10am to 4pm on weekdays. No staff on site on weekends during off-season.
We are a private non-profit organization, not funded by the county. We rely solely on donations, memorials, and grants.
The Jasper County Historical Museum was dedicated May 6, 1979. It is the result of the generosity and desire of many Jasper County residents who wanted to preserve the history of the area for future generations. The museum contains many interesting exhibits utilizing over 8,000 artifacts that have been donated to the society over the years.
