Instruction of the Korean Martial Art of Tae Kwon Do. Instruction for self defense.
The Jasper School of Tae Kwon Do is a branch school of the Traditional Tae Kwon Do Chung Do Kwon Association based in Louisville, under the guidance of Grand Master Young Sik Choi, 9th Degree Black Belt.
The school has been running since 1993 in Jasper, currently at Health Point on St. Charles Street. The school was started by Master Stan Keepes and Master Dave Duncan. The school is currently operated by Ed Messmer, 2nd degree Black Belt.
Instructors at the school include Master Stan Keepes, 6th degree Black Belt, Master Marc Campbell, 5th degree Black Belt, Master Lewis Montgomery, 5th degree Black Belt, Ed Messmer, 2nd Degree Black Belt and Scott Brandt, 2nd degree Black Belt.
The Jasper School of Tae Kwon Do specializes in the training of this traditional martial art. While we use this training for self defense, it is also a great form of exercise as we work to condition the whole body. We also reinforce commitment and discipline in the practice of Tae Kwon Do.
As a member of the Traditional Chung Do Kwon Association, we complete all rank advancement testing in front of Grand Master Young Sik Choi, 9th degree Black Belt, Master Charlie LaVanchy, 7th Degree Black Belt and Master Tom Crecelius, 7th Degree Black Belt. This helps assure that all members completing rank advancement are fully competent for that advancement. Black Belt testing is completed in front of all Masters of the Association.
The Jasper School of Tae Kwon Do is a great place for both kids and adults to work out and learn about the art of self defense and discipline. Students range in age from 5 to "senior" adults.
