java village is hole in a wall next to kung fu tea. they have some interesting dishes that i've never seen before, mostly because indonesian isn't commonplace in new york, so it's tough to gauge whether or not it was authentic. on its own, the food was above average. they leave it out in steam trays for you to choose the different dishes to go with your rice, but it can get dried out, which is the only downside. the decor is not really something to write home about, but it's not that kind of place. just a local "dive" restaurant to get a bite and go home.
Foods are so so, service is unattended; wonder how they'd stay in business so long?
